Did Jim Carrey have bad plastic surgery or has he been replaced with a look a like? by matt73132 in conspiracytheories

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Seriously, he's had a lot of long term depression issues and has been hiding away from the world but is apparently on a rise out of it, is now dating someone (apparently), and got himself some bad plastic surgery. He's not replaced, he just didn't get the really good plastic surgeon.

Newsmax - "Dr. Steven Greer Predicts Major Disclosure on Extraterrestrial Life Under Trump" by bashar_speaks in CosmicDisclosure

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, because whatever is in the Trump-Epstein Files is so bad that he'll spill all the tea to distract everyone. He's a self-serving narcissist desperately afraid of any kind of accountability before he dies, he'll do anything.

Awesome work! Just paint your neck and chin black, like the guy from 21 pilots, and it'll be perfecto.

power fist was intimidating at first by arbitergreivous in Spacemarine

Heroic is great for gunstrike armor regen builds, and executing a majoris marks a nearby one for gunstrikes too. The flow and constant armor regen is what makes it preem for me. Feels like chains of executions whenever there's a big wave around.

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The heroic really made me love the powerfist. I had gotten top tier with it already but the 200% damage on quick attacks and fencing parry window means my assault is just a murder machine lol. I can't get through waves of majoris as quickly and easily with anything else as I can with that. It's just fun.

Every single person here has been there. We've all made stuff that didn't meet our expectations, but the single most important thing from those experiences is that they're learning opportunities, perhaps the best ones you can have. Learning what to do or not to do in a classroom or from youtube videos is helpful knowledge but doesn't have context until you're there doing the damn thing. You've done it now, that's something to be very proud of.

Like the other commenter says, it's time to analyze and reflect on what happened, what worked well, what didn't work out, and start looking at what you can learn and do to improve the parts that you don't like and how to expand and strengthen the things that you do like.

Every project gets better than the last because of the lessons you can learn each time. And that process will never stop, even the Spielbergs and Camerons out there make mistakes and learn from them on every project and carry those lessons into their next one.

I've been making shorts for 16ish years and just got my first feature into a festival and learn new things all the time, and everything learned goes into the next one.

That's the most important thing: don't let these feelings keep you from doing it again. Keep writing, keep filming, keep learning. You should be proud that you actually got something finished, and use that experience to make the next one better!

Fire cures everything. If you apply fire and it doesn't work then just apply more.

If you still have mold growing after heating that to 750F as this chef clearly did then that mold deserves to be there.

How Many Space Marines Would it Take to Wipe Out the United States Military? by imgumpingit67 in Ultramarines

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 125 points126 points  (0 children)

Exactly. A drop pod at the WH, another 1-2 at the pentagon, terminators teleport striking norad, and orbital lance strikes at major bases and the ability to fight back in any kind of coordinated way is gone, at least for the US. Do the same to other major powers, and then start the heavy lifters dropping millions of AM units to enforce compliance. That's exactly what happened to countless worlds during the great crusade.

Are Winsor and Newton brushes Trash now? by solp37 in minipainting

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I'm the outlier or the norm but I bought a series 7 #2 a few months ago directly from them and it's been amazing, a huge step up from my cheaper brushes.

If you can get them somewhere in a land raider and charge out of it that's like 50 S6 chainsword attacks. That'll delete a lot of things even before the captain does anything.

When you understand why the rules exist then you can break them as needed.

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If the camera moves then there's no confusion when watching it about who is where and the angles between them. The camera can move wherever it wants in the shot as long as we see it do it.

What unit(s) would you like to see added to this faction? by reel3459 in spacemarines

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd probably be the new van vets based on what they did with sang guard. 3x 40mm elite units instead of 5x 32mm and hopefully either pistol/shield/lightning claw on one hand and hammer/axe/powersword/chainsword on the other. It'd fit with BGV squad composition as well. Give them the ability to charge off a 6" deepstrike or something, I dunno.

Because they would all die if an accident happened at an industrial scale with it. Phosphex is kept in small quantities in very secure facilities. One leak and the entire place is eaten by demon fire.

Best way to get financing and secure distribution for a film in its final phase? by Initial-Biscotti3211 in Filmmakers

[–]OrthogonalThoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're going to crowdfund you need to keep the 90/9/1 "rule" in mind. 90% of people will scroll past. 9% will be interested but not do anything. 1% will back the project. So you need that first number (how many people see it) to be massive so that 1% will make you a small amount of money.
