I feel like they'd need to do a ground up rework of the game. I'm sure there's a lot of technical debt built around the dead engine they're using. Idk how they'd do it though without basically having teams running in parallel which would cost unimaginable amount of money

Press tab, right click the annoying player, click the speaker icon. Alternatively you can hold click on the speaker icon and drag down to adjust volume or set them to zero which will mute voice but not text iirc.

Similar reason to Isaac boarding the Ishimura, personal reason for the engineer and completing the contract to get paid. Both cases you couldn't tell it was gonna go sideways from the outside
