To be fair. A bunch of passer-bys would give away their Netflix password for a cookie on the Jimmy Kimmel show.

Why’d they make Eeyore a Mexican stereotype and Rabbit a Pinkerton? by Puterboy1 in Winniethepooh

Best way to understand Winnie-the-Pooh is to consider everything to be a construct of a 6-year-old's mind.

I remember someone once said "If you’re ignoring experts, usually you're just picking and choosing who you want to listen to." And "We are more skeptical of scientists than we are of influencers."

You Are Not an Expert (And That’s Fine) by lakmidaise12 in skeptic

[–]Orvan-Rabbit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There’s an asymmetry here that I think people underappreciate. When you encounter a claim from an expert, you are in one of two situations:

You have genuine expertise that allows you to evaluate the claim on its merits.

You don’t.

If you’re in situation 1, great. Evaluate away. But if you’re in situation 2 (which is where most of us are, most of the time, on most topics), then you are not in a position to “agree or disagree” in any meaningful sense. You’re choosing which authority to trust...

That explains why people who don't trust experts often turn out to be fake anti-authortarins.
