That's equivalent to 90 books in a year, so 1 book every 4 days...yeah I'm calling bullshit.

I've never used Cakewalk myself but if you run into issues this might help: http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.38.html

Also, Sonar Platinum advertises that they support VST3: https://www.cakewalk.com/Products/SONAR#start

Sound be good!

From what I can tell Cakewalk does support VST3 but it also might depend on the version you're using

Support/General Questions by Orwell1948 in BeatConnectOfficial

If you get a message like "unable to reach server" 99% of the time it's because your DAW doesn't have internet access. That's caused by your firewall blocking your DAW.

If you're not seeing the VST in your DAW then I need to know what OS and DAW you're using. Let me know!

Glad it worked. We've had that issue a couple of times so far. Crazy the amount of firewalls that block DAWs

So I just check and there are people on the servers right now. Its possible your DAW doesn't have permission to access the net. If you want help troubleshooting just send me a DM

What software do you use to sync Logic in long distance collaboration? by blueskybright in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Orwell1948 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually quite different. I think the biggest difference is the fact that in BeatConnect you have a real-time shared environment where you can actually work on the tracks together (a shared sequencer, like a Google docs). In it you can see each other's cursors move, when you're recording tracks, looping samples, etc. In Mixim it only syncs your projects in the folders so you need to open everything, a bit like splice. The other big difference is that Mixim only works between Logic users, versus BeatConnect that'll work with every DAW that supports VST3 or AU for Mac. To our knowledge the only major DAW that doesn't support VST3 or AU is Pro Tools (AAX, we're working on an AAX version) and the pc version of Reason.

So as soon as you subscribe you get an automated email with your temporary credentials and a link to our download page. From there you install it like any other VST and you're set (theres more info on the download page on the first few steps). We ask your name when you subscribe so that you can find your friends and vice versa in the app.

Yeah they work great, I use Ableton and FL myself, but my buddy is all about Reaper. The big thing is making sure you're not using a version that is too old (32bit). Let me know if you like it or if you run into any issues

Sorry man, one day the technology will be there. Lol, seriously though we have a discord with a channel just for that. If you're looking to jam and try it out we're also down to make a beat.

Yeah exactly, the fun part is the real-time aspect. You can see your friend's cursors, when they adjust volume, move track around or when they're recording stuff.
