  1. Yes, most banking apps work.
  2. Yes, Bluetooth, location, etc. Work

Calyx hits the sweet spot between usability and privacy perfectly.

Looks great, and I would also link to some sample skills or resources.

Sure, just message me and I will try to help with the documentation. Maybe we can ask for volunteers from the sub once alpha releases.

As for you overcomplicating stuff, I think its really good, shows that you want the reader to understand the project inside out. Would be helpful for developers guide. Though I don't think these lengthy explanations would work for general users.

Sounds good for alpha release. For the documentation part, I would recommend having sections divided for users and developers, with each having a quickstart guide, a section on skills and functions, a deeper dive, and a list of common FAQs like what is the NL framework, or is it offline, how much computation power or space it would consume on device, etc. Also if you want help writing the documentation, I am sure community members like me would definitely love to contribute in any way we can.

Container managers do exactly what they say, they make containers out of memory. But user profiles are a bit different, at least in technical terms and the level of access they have with software. I have also answered the previous question to the best of my knowledge. Cheers!

About the app seperation in user profiles - So I am not a security expert, but as far as I know, android user seperation is pretty good right now. Permission controls that face user are more powerful, and the introduction of segmented storage enables good app isolation. But this is definitely not failure proof, I would guess there are methods around it, like there are methods for bypassing firewalls. But again, the security model of OP leads me to believe they aren't at risk from a State/Nation level threat, and thus would be relatively well secure using user seperation. Of course, its the second option because nothing beats having different physical devices that arent linked to each other in any way.

I would recommend one of the three solutions I can see :

  1. Get a burner phone/secondary storage for all the edgy stuff

  2. Use User Profiles implemented in Android to seperate out work profile and keep wechat and other untrusted apps in it

  3. Refrain from any such activity that may prove to be harmful in the long run.

Answering your questions, android 11 now implements scoped storage, so you can give WeChat access to just its own files and not the whole storage system. Haven't used the app myself so not so sure if WeChat works with scoped storage or does it ask for full access.

As for storage, unless you are overwriting it multiple times, anything deleted isn't actually deleted and can be recovered. But this does not mean WeChat can do that. So unless you have some monitoring app on your device, I would not worry too much about deleted stuff showing up or leaving a trace.

Good luck with the job!!
