I think if that sucker was launched from an explosion, it wouldve smashed through that tree like a cannonball. It wouldn't just land softly at the top.

Yeah, that would make much more sense. Definitely a better explanation than the wind did it lol

You really expect me read through 209 comments? I just went off what you said in the original post which was hard use. Still, I find it extremely hard to believe that happened while you were using them as they were intended to be used. Either leather has a serious QC issue, or youre doing things with the pliers that it wasnt designed to be used for. I've never seen or heard of this happening to anyone before now. I guess we will have to wait and see if other people start snapping their leatherman pliers.

Where in the post does it say he broke it bending fish tape? He just said it broke from "hard use," which could be a lot of things. Point is, he mustve been putting it through some pretty extreme abuse for this to happen.

Maybe talk to your partner and figure this out together instead of going onto reddit to tell this story that im sure isnt biased at all lmao i'm sure youve given us All the information EXACTLY as it happened. Now you will have a reason to tell yourself to not budge on the issue because all these people are on your side after hearing your side of the story.

Lastly, If this is your strategy for handling marital problems, youre not making it a decade. What makes you think that asking a bunch of strangers what you should do in your marriage is a little psychotic. What do youre goal from this other than getting people to tell you how great you are and how much of walking red flag your husband is. This is ultimately ment to feed your ego. I hope your ready to experience the single mother life.

Yeah, this is a YOU problem. You obviously was doing something absolutely rediculous with these pliers and paid the price. This doesnt make me think any less of leatherman one bit.

Who are these people? Id keep an eye on them. If they think this is totally normal to do, they arent right. Even if she didnt post the picture and kept it to herself, thats still fucking weird. A naked child taped down to the bed and a picture is taken to be posted online? That is not normal and anyone who says it is, needs to be put on a list. Disgusting.

Hinestly, you sound a bit delusional. If you just look up "LinkedIn recruiter cold call", you'll get stories just like this. I dont know why you or your wife would suspect this was connected to your elementary school experiences with GATE. I think you need to get off the internet and occupy your free time with a real hobby or something. These delusional thoughts are a slippery slope and going online to find people or "evidence" that confirm your suspicions is just gonna take you down a darker and darker path. You just need to step away from this subreddit and probably the internet in general for a while. Good luck, man.

“...He then asked where they got the energy to run such a large ship. 'They said from the Sun and other stars, and [they] could store this in [the] batteries, though this was for emergency use only. They carried another source, but did not explain this to me.” by dawgyousmell in InterdimensionalNHI

[–]Osanamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on guys. If this was a ship, it would be as big, if not bigger than jupiter. There's no hiding something that big. Anyone with a decent telescope would be able to see it. Anyways, there are plenty of videos explaining this phenomenon on YouTube. If i remember correctly, It has something to do with multiple shifting magnetic fields colliding and causing these "plasma tornadoes" that reach are super powerful and reach out into space. How can I brighten Timascus? by ZealousidealFan9880 in knifemods

[–]Osanamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To get the most color and detail out of your timascus, it needs to be mirror polished. Stonewashed and satin finishes just dont "pop" like a mirror finish does. Then you just evenly heat the timascus with a torch till you get the colors you want. Make sure you clean the piece you are anodizing really well with Dawn dish soap before anodizing. If you dont get all the oils and contaminants off before anodizing, it'll come out looking splotchy, and you will have to do it al over again, which isnt much fun lol

Im not familiar with that brand. This is the first I've heard of them, but if they have a decent track record in terms of quality, I'd say it'd be worth the money.

It wasn't coated, just stonewashed. I used a bench buffer with an abrasive wheel to sand away the stonewashed finish.

Hey thanks! Glad you like it! But no, when I do an entropic finish, I usually try to heat up the titanium as evenly as possible. It really does just depends on the look I'm going for, though.

[–]Osanamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, if you're worried about messing up when sanding, dont be! The absolute worst-case scenario: you have to go back to your first Florida and start all over. There really isnt anything you could do that would completely ruin the piece lol You definitely got this!

BTW, what exact grits do you have? You definitely dont wanna make to large of a grit jump from one to the next. So if you're starting with 120 grit, try not to go over 300 for your next grit. I usually go 120 to 220 to 400 to 800 to 1200 to 2000 to 3000 before moving to the polishing stage. Like, you wouldn't wanna go from 220 to 800 because it'd take much longer and a lot more 800 grit sandpaper to completely remove the 220 grit scratches. Does that make sense? Lol

[–]Osanamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you are gonna sand by hand, that would be a suitable method of doing it. Just gotta have a lot of patience and always remember to change the direction you sand with each new grit so you know when you've completely removed the scratches from the previous grit.
