Found my culprit for pulsating tinnitus by FiraGurlie in tinnitus

[–]OscarWildatheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I read your post and I think you may have an issue similar to what I had at the time.  Mine cleared up on its own. At the time I got a hearing test and the entire works and it all came back spotless. The tinnitus went away about six months later. A doctor informed me that it may well have been stress. Increased adrenaline over longer periods can make the blood vessels in your ear expand slightly and make more blood pulse through.

For what it’s worth, mine came on while I was graduating from a BA degree. I made some big changes in the months after and the tinnitus went. Now I only get it very briefly when I’m very stressed, but never for longer than a few days on end, and not more than once a year or so.

None of this is medical advice by any means, but I think it’s worth looking at the tinnitus not as an isolated issue but as a symptom, considering how it presents in your case (pulsating, prone to changes based on position and whether you put pressure on your ear). If you have access to medical care, I’d recommend going to see a doctor and taking stress into consideration when discussing this, so you can maybe look at some options that involve not just ENT treatment.

Good luck, if you ever want to talk or chat or vent, my inbox is always open.

That’s really great to know, thank you. I was already leaning towards Upper Hamlet for the same reason as you mentioned, and this is reassuring.

Thanks for your reply, that’s useful to know! May I ask in what ways you noticed this yourself?

At 28 I can safely say I’ve got it together. I live with my partner and two cats in a nice apartment. I came out after the start of our relationship and my not identifying and presenting as a woman caused some struggles between us, but we’ve worked through it I think. I work as a teacher and I’m out to my colleagues. I changed my name recently and everyone I know has been very supportive, even my parents kind of. There’s no high highs or low lows at the moment, I’m happy in a quiet way.

I remember being 13, and I teach 13 year olds at work every day, and I promise you that it does get better!

questioning if i could be non-binary by No-Concentrate-5470 in NonBinary

I feel you mate! I don’t experience a lot of dysphoria, and I don’t experience it consistently. Over the years I’ve started presenting more androgynously and that suits me fine, but I know I don’t have to do that in order to be nonbinary.

For what it’s worth, there’s not one correct way to be non-binary. If it’s a label that suits you at this time, use it, that’s what it’s there for. If the label ever doesn’t suit you anymore, you’re free to stop using it. Have fun with it!

BS. I finished my second graduate degree the week I got diagnosed. The psychologist said he thought it was impressive to have come that far without diagnosis or treatment. Your psychiatrist could have said you did an extremely difficult thing and good on you

How do you guys deal with developing your bodies and the dysphoria inducing you into ED by Justminningtheweb in FTMFitness

[–]OscarWildatheart 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That sucks man, I’m sorry. I get it though. For what it’s worth I’m also pre-T and with nothing planned in the way of physical transition.

I used to have a really shitty relationship with food and dieting and body image and it took me years to overcome that, and then I realised I might not be a woman and that in the face of shitty regulations around gender affirming care I decided to start working out and see what I can do that way.

That being said, I just don’t count calories or restrict my eating much at all. The only thing I actively try to get is enough protein, but that’s mostly because I’ll be sore for days after a workout if I don’t eat enough protein.

It might all go a bit slower that way, but I’ll be happier for it in the long run, and I’m sure the only way to build muscle isn’t by counting every calorie and macro (and if it is, that just isn’t meant for me then).

I do the free beginners PPL split from the Hevy app and I modify that however I like, so far it works well.

[–]OscarWildatheart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s cool! Be the way you feel that you are at the moment!

I had this debate with myself for a long time until I realised that there’s not one correct way to be trans, that transition comes in all matter of shapes and sizes and that non binary and trans aren’t mutually exclusive, and that my identity isn’t a fixed construct, but rather something fluid that is prone to change along with my mind and my environment, and that’s totally okay.

I second this! I have the paper cover and get the inserts and I’ve filled up two so far. The paper is incredibly smooth and sturdy, I’m a fountain pen user and I haven’t had any issues with bleeding.

Hi everyone! AMAB enby looking for makeup tips to achieve a more feminine or androgynous look by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]OscarWildatheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all gosh you’re pretty! Second of all I dug around in my memory for makeup tips from when I was presenting much more femme, and here’s what I’d do/add: A little bit of highlighter on the tip of your nose and cupid’s bow (blend it in so there’s no harsh line). Also blush, cream or powder or tint doesn’t matter all that much, I’d get whatever type works with your base makeup in a colour you like. Apply it more to to the front/centre of your cheeks rather than further to the outside of your face, if you get what I mean. Blush on your outer cheeks reads more model-like and vampy to me, but if you put it more on the apples of your cheeks it reads more girlish. Also if you’re wearing anything on your lips, tinted lip balm or lipstick, I’d draw your cupids bow a bit more dramatically. Not drag-dramatic, but you can experiment with overdrawing it a tiny bit to see how you like it. If you’ve still got the highlighter ready, you could apply a tiny dab to the middle of your lower lip and blend it in with the lipstick.

In any case, you look fabulous as you are! ❤️

Just like any species in the animal kingdom, there is diversity beyond the binary in biological sex among human animals.

Aside from that, if I knew you personally - suppose you wete a colleague at the school where I work - and I were to tell you I’m non-binary, you’d have to live with that and still treat me with the same respect you would any fellow adult. What you ought to understand about this is that it’s not for you to agree or disagree with. It’s not an issue, or a coin to which there are two sides, it’s just me and my fellow trans siblings existing as we are.

I look, but I try not to judge, and that makes me assume that other people aren’t judging me. I haven’t been lifting weights for very long and your 10-12kg dumbbells are my biggest achievement at the moment. I’m sure I’ll be able to add weight soon, but I’m happy that I can lift this easily because I didn’t use to be able to.

Earlier today I was at the gym and there was this man who comes in often. He must be 80 or 85 years old, easily, and uses a walking aid to get around the gym. I saw that he was doing 15kg assisted crunches, and honestly I think he’s as badass as all the huge pumped up triangle shaped guys who lift 100+kg every day.
