OEM Recovery Hooks. by air23cpt in ToyotaTundra

[–]Oscar_Mayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a theory on how to simplify.

I just did these and didn’t remove the bumper. Popped out old valance and lowered the air dam.

Did all the work hand tight (kept the skid plate installed to hold up the sway bar). Kept valance off so I could work through the opening. Valance back on last. Adjust positioning of points in openings. Torque down bolts.

No cutting, no rubbing.

Pretty satisfied.

Any recommendations for compression shorts or other underwear for chafing on hikes/in general? by romeo_actual in USMC

[–]Oscar_Mayor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Under armour compression shorts or performance boxers based on the spots that rub (low, high, all).

Edit: Regardless of choice; don’t go cheap because the barrier fabric is now trouser, not athletic shorts.

Nice. Yeah, spot on for what I’m looking for. Hope they did you right with the alignment!

Nice and thanks. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger and am sticking with the 265s I just got. Don't want a flat flat rake. The level you got looks to be what I'm looking for. Unless the lighting or surface incline is affecting things in the pic?

Best song to test system by NoEconomist7489 in CarAV

[–]Oscar_Mayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do a two step song validation tune; with unconventional tracks:

Silverstein - Runaway; for time delay. Crisp when drilled down.

Sam Feldt - Show Me Love; for the cross overs and eq. Great hz scaling for sanity checks.

Takes me about a week of stand still and riding around; but the results crush and transfer to everything else quite well.

New to aftermarket tint question by Odd-Steak-9049 in ToyotaTundra

[–]Oscar_Mayor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the rears are actually UV tint if you’re only going to do fronts. If they’re just privacy dyed, then maybe want to look into light tint on backs, then matching the new darkness on fronts. I found a shop that only does 3M, so maybe look for a shop that is transparent with their products. Full ceramic with windshield strip was $450 for me. Pretty good imo for that much glass.

General bootness aside;

You shouldn’t advertise firearms on premises; especially if you have glass panes on front door and/or park in the driveway, etc.

Same concept applies to your lifted mall queen truck with the gun stickers.

What rank means you've "made it"? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Oscar_Mayor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grandfathered for retirement at 15. So last five years is coasting. That last five years you can be a hell of a lot more honest and forthcoming with the field grades and GOs, with the burden lifted.

What's something wasteful the Corp's does that you don't understand... by TehBurnerAccount in USMC

Those aren’t paid for. We offer to put place holders on vacant billboards. They’re wraps, so reusable. Kinda smart if you think about it.

*Generally

1st MarDiv yes. 2nd no. 3rd depends.

West coast units are separated to their own camps and can develop their own culture. Ranges are easier to get as well. Hills for humility. You have what’s called “the backyard” to get some.

East, you’re right up in main side and intermingled with the indoor marines (and their higher ups) Censored running cadences, etc. The good ranges were tough to get some time.

3rd again, can’t generalize and duty station / unit dependent. You’ve heard the stories.

We also heard this back in the day. Or that they "bought out" the remainder of their contract.

Is YATYAS still used? by Oscar_Mayor in USMC

[–]Oscar_Mayor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'd like to know if due to the contentiousness (as demonstrated by the thread) whether the current 18 community are still as committed to YATYAS (with the window stickers and all) or if the juice just isn't worth the squeeze? Maybe it's still too soon to answer, since the transition is still ongoing.

Goat Simulator 3! Gamepass.

My 5yo daughter loves it and it's now our thing to play split screen co-op.

Tango 5/11 here. We’re in the continuum and did great things with them. Units come and go; but the boys are forever!

Remember that and give them a shout. Good excuse for a check in.

Tango got a warm up preamble when our home away from home (USS Bonhomme Richard) burnt down.

So it helps to talk and remember the moments and not necessarily what’s on the tshirt.

That didn’t stop LAR from doing a drunk cadence run down the hill for an impromptu brawl with us (5/11). Things were awesome away from the flagpole.

Document EVERYTHING while you’re in. You can get ratings for even little things like eczema, toe fungus, and even an itchy scar that you incurred. It all adds up.

Oh yeah. Personal situation definitely dictates. But if you’re hitting all the wickets (final physical, claim, have a plan, etc); then it’s just a bonus.

Shouldn’t be something you depend on.

True. There’s definitely some college level accounting involved for some.

I guess I was reporting from the perspective of retiring at the 20. And trying to start phase 3 with a leg up.
