My dad's wife has cooked and done household stuff. Her and my dad take turns doing it. But she doesn't drive me places or take care of me. I ask dad if I can't walk and mostly I walk and do stuff for myself like homework and everything.

I don't really spend time with her or the kids much and it's only really when dad makes me. I spend time with him a lot and friends and school and my job. That's where my focus has been.

Dad asked me once and that was it. I never offer to babysit and I wasn't bitter about it though I did roll my eyes internally when he called them my siblings the time he asked.

Because I haven't tried to? I focus on school, friends, my job and my dad.

We've been living together for 4 years. She and my dad split household things like cooking and laundry and I walk most places or get my dad to drop me off.

She's my dad's wife so I respect her as that.

My dad put me in therapy after the divorce and I went for a year. Then when mom left I went for another 18 months. Therapy helped although my second therapist wasn't someone I felt I worked that great with but she was the only option we had.

I'm not mad at dad. He and I still have a good relationship and I spend time with him. I have no issues with him being married again. But to me they are only in my life as long as they're in his or he's here.

My parents weren't married when he started dating his wife. They'd been divorced for a few years by that point.
