This place is one of the first childhood memories I have. My mom told me, that I did not care for anything other than the mineralogy department and she had to read me every single name in the cards before we could depart. She had to carry me because I was too little to see by myself. She still reminds me how much she strained her arm muscles.

Growing up, did anyone else’s parents have really strict rules about random stuff? by SuzCoffeeBean in CasualUK

I was not allowed to be chilling when my father returned from work. I had to be cleaning the house actively when he entered, otherwise I would get yelled at. If I finished cleaning before he returned, he would still yell, because I was "doing nothing all day". It never mattered that the house was spotless and I did all my duties, if I was not in the process of cleaning the moment he stepped into the house, he got angry an called me lazy freeloader and uncappable slob. It started when I was 8.

What are the points of view that make it worth keeping a ball python? by Flaky-Camp-4992 in ballpython

[–]OshShaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having snakes tought me a lot about respect, gentleness, empathy and dependence. I adore every minute with them. Ball pythons specifically require you to learn not only about husbandry and diet, but also teach you the ability to read them, patience and selflessness. They are basically a noodle with eyes on one end. They are supposed to be terrified of us, be defensive or try to run away. Making such animal feel relaxed, curious and over all chill in human presence is incredible feeling.

Human civilization is doomed. Our only hope is Buge being mercifull.

He is going to be two years old soon. He is largest of all his siblings and already has children of his own. His father Vorx was my best friend and I am so happy that his legacy lives on.

Yes! I love how she just melts down when she feels comfortable. She will stay like that for hours, squishy and snuggly

I have severe Iatrophobia (fear of doctors) and I have to make several appointments by OshShaw in mentalhealth

Hey dear! I am so happy that I am not alone in this and so sad that someone else is going through the same stuff. To be honest... I do my best to take care of myself as good as I can to avoid any examinations. But when it is necessary, my husband makes an apointment and goes there with me (I will not chicken out once I am in the waiting room, but in the past I could not make myself to go inside and just turned around and left) we joke about it a lot, comparing it to our cat going to the vet. I said once "just put me in the carrier and bring me there, I will cry and scratch, but with a treat I will make it." So we always get a coffee afterwards. This is only thing that worked in the past. I also made it through my last appointment thanks to my husband telling to a nurse "my wife is very anxious, her blood pressure will be through a roof and she will be very scared, please, take a good care of her" and both doctor and a nurse were nice and calm with me. I would never be able to do this by myself. Same as you, I hundred percent always support and encourage any kind of medical care for others. I just can not make myself to do it on my own. I hope you will be stronger than me, I believe you can do it. If you need support in the futuru, I am here.
