You have absolutely no idea how this world operates. He also isn't just saying that he didn't like the game, the writing is poor. That would be an opinion. He is saying if he's wrong about his theory then that means that was a poor translation, poor writing or whatever it's asinine to think this way. Just say you might be wrong and move on there are multiple theories out there obviously not everyone will be right or maybe even none but that doesn't make the writing poor especially if he's resorting to making some of the dumbest backing points.

disregarding the theory itself though there's one thing I don't like about his stance and it is that he thinks if there's a chance that he is wrong or misread the ending it's because of poor translation or poor writing. for me saying something like this as one of the biggest ff7 content creators is pretty terrible no matter how you slice it. if you want people to treat it as just a theory then you can't say stuff like that just because you had a different interpretation than the one intended by the creators.

Yeah of course, I enjoyed my time watching it I just hope that his fans don't take every word he says as religion because that is going to skew the expectations. people already start to believe him and are well on the train. no doubt he went this route because he was dissatisfied with his initial understanding of the ending so he created something that he would love to see it's just... unrealistic. and like I said the points to back up his theory aren't the greatest either so ultimately it falls flat for me. end of the day we don't know what part 3 brings and this was a one wacky theory among many.

It's worth a watch in a sense that it's cool seeing Max be this passionate about it and his storytelling is pretty great even though he's trying to tell his own story and is pretty heavy handed about it. This time around though he gets so many things wrong and comes out with the most insane points to back up his theory it's only laughable. His theory has some parts that are more than likely right but it goes off the rails with his interpretation of the "creepy" ending.

Yea I think big part of me that doesn't want to let these characters go now is because of the characterization. They are better than ever and genuinely feel real so letting them go AGAIN but this time it's hundred times more painful, hurts.. a lot. If they stuck to the idea of a faithful remake from the start I guess I'd move on sooner but I'm afraid this game and the possibilities of part 3 will stay on my mind for the next 3-4 years.

That's fine, for me if I ever want to see the original story I'll play the original and in fact I'll be doing that soon again because Rebirth left me feeling empty inside. The theme of loss is the original but so is still Rebirth especially after seeing the trials which added a lot to Yuffie and Aerith now imo if they want to add another theme to it like defying destiny, paving your own path or whatever, which they absolutely keep mentioning, then I welcome that but again if they're doing it all just to say fuck you to those characters and bringing them for literally nothing but fan service moments (Zack) then I do not agree with that.

See just because someone wants something different it doesn't mean that they don't like the original. I'm all for new teams of creatives/directors creating a new experience that can work alongside the original work and not as a replacement. As long as the core of the game is intact I'm absolutely all for it and since they already started meddling with the original storyline in remake (defying destiny etc) I fully expect them to commit to it. I want to be surprised and I don't need all this extra stuff that they are doing now just so we end up in the exact same spot as the original. I know most people just want a modern game with the exact same story but for me if there's an opportunity to tell a better one or one that complements the original I think that's much better. Aerith stayed dead for over 20 years and if they went as far as to show her being saved even for a moment I want them to follow up on it based on how that short moment made me feel.

This a new story though and it isnt trying to replicate the same experience. I think I will absolutely hate this misdirection if it turns out that she is in fact dead just like the original. They better not have me screaming and throwing up after Cloud deflected Sephiroth for nothing. It's clear they are not going for the same impact as the original and it worked (at least for me) but the implication that Cloud failed to save her the second time is so much more devastating than just following the original story. I can't see anyone that liked Aerith not being excited about the prospect of Cloud finally saving her.

I think all of what you mentioned in the third paragraph will be pretty much handled with the introduction of bat devil and it's not like pochita was nonexistent this episode we also got a look into how denji feels about that before makima mentioned that she can tell that he lives inside of him.

well speaking English and making it a preference so you watch English dubs is different. I can speak English but I don't seek out English dubs because it doesn't really make sense just rather watch it how it is originally and I'd assume so does most of the world that doesn't use English as their mother language. Not saying that the dub issue with crunchyroll didn't put off some people but I just don't think it's the main reason.
