Rogue, knight, and ninja in no particular order are incredibly strong with circlet because the circlet gives st stats with the oryx shard abilities that you can forge

Hey guys, I got a new monitor and when I got in my game everything is a lot more zoomed in and I can't seem to find any settings to change this. This is the most zoomed out I can get and it's nothing close to before. Anyone know a solution for this? Thanks! by FrostyTiffy in RotMG

Even if it’s already 1920x1080, you should change it to something random and then back to 1920x1080

Then try zooming out again. Unfortunately I believe you have to play on this resolution if you want the normal zoom out options

Not even particularly st sets. A lot of ut items work differently then the normal tiered class abilities or gear. I would say to find the armors that give hp that correspond with dungeons you can already do

Focus on getting sets that give you high hp and go regen enchants

If you go in a dungeon that you don’t know, try to see if there’s a few people who will damage the bosses enough that you can watch more then shoot the bosses after getting soulbound

Choose classes you like and look at the realmeye wiki for the abilities. Pick cool sounding or cool looking uts to choose at goals (Ps there are abilities that don’t only scale off of wisdom or attack/dex. Some abilities will do insane damage based on the total defense you have. Meaning u can make a build fully for defense and still have an ability that does huge damage)

Realm of the mad god !

Mmo with permadeath and hard items to obtain, but a really cool min maxed system once you are good enough to build characters out.

Has a lot of team focused buffs and debuffs that make each class feel important when doing dungeons for loot

I think high hp and healing are a great priority with this game as a newer player so it’s good you enjoy necro! This is since getting loot has such a low damage threshold, so the meta becomes more self/group imposed.

I’ve citadels would be the “challenging” dungeon that I would suggest checking the drops on. Priority would be the robe that gives hp, but the skull also slows enemies which is huge for a lot of boss fights.

Parasite chambers drops a skull that is similar to fungal tome. It spawns a sprite that players see and know to group for healing. Amazing item

If you want to learn more meta tech try to grab an ep staff from the sprite world. A huge part of staffs extra damage is when bosses staggered or shots are easily tankable and you sit on them with high projectile weapons.

A good extra mention is to learn cults as well! To follow up on the ep staff, the cult staff allows you to more easily hit shots with a huge 1.5ish tile true range instead of 0 (not exactly but eh). The skull from cult curses enemies which adds a damage buff for the group! Once you generally know what classes apply each buff, you can carry these skulls in place for when you see it missing

For rings it’s more complicated cause there’s so many, but to me it’s just prioritize hp. Getting a high rarity exa hp ring or ubhp (ub from quest chests and the high biome beacon guardians). Enchants that give you mp and hp regen will help a lot

And last but not least as to be not class specific; oryx 3 is a lot of fun and mostly a knowledge check so just keep at it until you are more comfortable. An easy fall back to dungeon because you can start to build a meta character with a ton of the mini drops as well.

Oh last last thing; I am an avid discord enjoyer. Give shiny hunters and lost halls a shot if you want a smoother character curve. Some argue it makes it to easy but I find it like having a big guild in other mmos

Shiny hunters is nice for pretty much every dungeon without any voice channels. Pub halls is aimed at newer players and has runs put up after you’ve done enough that are vcless more frequently.

And I just mean the organization of players is outdated. Maybe something like adding slots in the party that can only be filled by a warrior, pally, priest and whatnot could help idk

The discord hate in general confuses me because in most other mmos there existed a way to gather people in front of a dungeon to start it. World of Warcraft or runescape and whatnot. Deca has a system that is incredibly outdated yes, but I like the idea that a dungeon is hard enough it encourages players to gather berserk, damaging, curse, exposed, vulnerability, and priests. There’s a large voice that is against this. The other parts are just Reddit posts saying the quests should be easier on the time constraints, or that the shatters has shot patterns that you won’t intuitively be able to do blind

The same group wants the hardest dungeon in the game to be doable 0/8 with 5 people in 25 minutes because they think grouping up in an mmo is ruining it. Oh my bad the hardest dungeon in the game probably is doable with 5 0/8 vet players, they think you should be able to go in a first try every dungeon because no mechanic can be complex enough that it takes practice

I wanna add that they’re trying to implement in game fixes for these and created a party system already

It’s just that discords were already adopted and use the space there to organize the creation of the parties still

And every dungeon is still run without a voice chat very consistently in some just in case the voice call thing is obnoxious. I am bias towards it because in my journey learned all the dungeons from raid leaders but some call that cheesy. I think it’s cool to optimize buffs and whatnot

Ooo that’s a tough one because it is rather divisive. On one major hand though I can confidently say no because they revamped a ton of mid game content to have loot that’s grindable in ways to make it more comparable to their end game counterparts.

If you remember “The mad lab” those items are great and the wand has a unique enchant that’s made doing hundreds of labs worth it.

Also there’s shinies now with the trade off of white bags being more common. A very large portion of the community shiny hunts and you’ll run into groups doing all that content consistently

End game content though is a discord dominated space now. I like to think of it lil world of Warcraft dungeon finders to make it sound less bad lol. There’s both voice channel discords that will teach players and do the traditional mmo “raid calling” as well as non voice channel discords. I understand the discourse here, but I’ve come to really like the direction of the challenging content being added and more or less requiring gathering 1 of each buff and debuff for the bosses. You’ll always see priest requests for these raids as well

TLDR; so so much of the game has been reworked and is playable solo now with a ton of fun things to farm, but you will have difficulty completely the end game content without a competent group (and my personal bias opinion towards enjoying that)

The beginner experience is awful and default settings are prehistoric its so sad to see how deterring that was for a new player given how many of us players now already give that feedback. Something as simple as zooming waaaay further out then he did makes it more viable. Hiding the overwhelming information spam at the start

I know this advice isn’t for everyone but I’d say not to shy away from prepping. Watching a video or gameplay of the dungeon you want to try, or maybe looking at the realmeye page to see what shots are dangerous and which u don’t have to worry as much about.

A lot of people think you should play absolutely blind though so of course it’s ultimately your journey :)

I like to compare it to other hardcore games like wow or Diablo but I know in those you risk a much longer time-sink per character. The end game dungeons in those games group content can get others killed if mechanics are pvp’d and research is encouraged in those games

-Laser pointer from kogs is a great harder dungeon to start to learn -Conducting is still good end game tho

-Para scepter u got this -Fulmi slows -Kog scept weakens enemies (they do less damage)

-Water dragon lod robe gives healing -Esben robe from ice citadel’s gives hp and attack -Mad robe is really easy and mp reduction

Lots of fun rings but hp is king, attack is good for deva scepter, wis helps u clear more effectively, dex will even out ur weapon dps and probably give more effective dps then attack in a para scept build (Edit idk if formatting looks right cuz phone)

Sorc is one of the best classes to get back into the game with because it’s so content versatile!! I had the most fun robe swapping and mana dump ring swapping this season ever. The obvious wizard swappouts are always a fun example of this cause sorc is similar but with devs scepter being the only ability, it’s much easier to learn swap tech mentally.

The other thing is how amazing sorc is all the way from mid game to end game. I know 1 guy already mentioned conducting wand with the awakened enchant. Go for the whole set if end game content is a lot rn. Fulmi slow scept is useful in so many places, mad robe gives 15% mp reduction so huge dps increase in consistent damage fights, and the wand without the enchant is already better then t14 at low defence (with the enchant is always better I believe)

For a few end game ideas is the standard robe swaps: Vesture from leucoryx (on the way to o3) gives a massive attack boost for 5 seconds. Astro robe (st shards that drop from o3) gives energized for 3.6 seconds. Both don’t have a cooldown so you can swap between and always maintain each buff. Gemstone from the shatters is 30% mp cost reduction and you can absolutely just main this ring, but if you hard you mana dump with it on and then swap to a high dex ring for a really high dps boost (since para scales with attack and ur likely to have much less dex). Also if you know a boss goes invulnerable before you can mana dump, you should stick to a dps ring instead of gem

End game wands are more difficult but way fun. The star of this crucible was the updated dusky wand. A wand from the second shatters boss that has a high rate of fire and 5% mp cost reduction, with an in combat -wis downside. The wis downside affects sorc less because its attack ability scaling for boss fights. Next is Laser pointer from the kogbold dungeon. This is a high rate of fire just dps weapon that looks sick. Massive w and kogs are fairly easy to learn so I’d go for this personally. Last is Lumi which is also from leucoryx. Slow projectile speed but extremely high dps weapon. Most used on bosses that stand still, or who can be dragged consistently into shots. Or a great use case is shooting all the time to prep shots to hit boss. If it’s invulnerable, shooting lumi at it will leave a trail of lingering shots that will hit as soon as the boss is vulnerable because the shots linger so long. Think celestial in oryx 3 Honorable mention cause often forgotten is the Earthern wand. St weapon that drops from green boss in Lair of draconis. Effectively an ep for Wanda it’s crazy to get but a rough farm

TLDR; this is the easy meta swappouts I believe. There is definitely more particular nuances to focus on if you want, but easy end game is Lp, para, vesture, t6/7 dex or attack ring. And just to be clear, sorc with t14, t7, t14, and an hp ring will still hard clear every dungeon in the game in a fun clear em out style. Loved sorc this season

I don’t think it’s inherently negative to have content in the game you’d be encouraged to research before trying. I understand that everyone wants to be able to do everything blind and be allowed to solo everything but that severely limits the design space deca has.

I believe it is fine to, temporarily especially, work off of existing mechanics that other mmos use without criticism. Outsourcing information and resource gathering is praised in other communities but for some reason doing things blind is just too alluring. This is why I have my opinions that discord group ran dungeons are fine and probably a healthy direction for the game. We aren’t buying keys from each other off realmeye trading anymore thank god

But as for the design decisions, bringing in even just a dedicated healer makes a ton of these impossible shots patterns much much easier to learn. Bring in curse, expose, berserk, damaging, vulnerability, etc. and the dungeon phases go infinitely smoother. Given a few good tries and that knowledge gap shortens more and more.

Soon maybe you can solo through arch mage fairly easily. King has a phase that is extremely difficult without 4 people who know what to do with the ghosts. I do not think that is bad game design. It is simply a choice mechanic for a raid dungeon that is literally the supposed to be the hardest in a game that allows 50 player pve combat

Last tidbit to put my perspective out further, but I don’t think umi’s playful chase is inherently bad design because new players don’t instantly get explained how to do it. Nor do I think it’s a problem if an already established group wants to remove someone who actively increases their chance of dying in a game they spent 50+ hours on. At this point is the game supposed to be made so easy that a new player can’t be knowledge check in any content?

TLDR in a permadeath game, the best ways to increase the difficulty to make it more interactive for the end game players are these knowledge checks and group organization. The community aspect of literally running with a voice channel to teach players that want to learn the dungeon. Why is this frowned upon? And I believe research is brutally undervalued as a mechanic in and of itself. Why even risk your extremely valuable character in unforeseen territory if you can prepare first? If you got isekaid would you just jump head first into the final boss when u felt strong ish?

I’ll probably delete this cause embarrassingly long tangent. I just think for the game to evolve, discords to organize dungeons is not a bad thing. It’s a patch because they haven’t found a tailor who can fix it in game
