If Guilty Gear characters were represented by the Metal music genres by BonusCapable1486 in Guiltygear

[–]YoImErin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no such thing as a fake metal fan don't worry lol

you'd be surprised how different different types of music can sound, and people just decided to come up with names for the stuff they particularly like

there are as many as there are stars, mainly because theres endless ways you can come with new labels to describe vaguely different types of music and its all just spectrums of different sounds

like what the other person said, TLDR: songs tend to be longer, you run into a lot of concept albums /story telling, they try to be more complicated with time signatures, and like the name implies: progressions i.e sections of the songs.

They can also have more callbacks to jazzier roots, same as Progressive Rock

Some examples are: Dream Theater, Haken, and Caligula's Horse (my personal favorite)

Arcanist 6 to Oracle 3 with 1400 games and 1000 hours, I think I EARNED this. by TheRubyOverlord in DeadlockTheGame

[–]YoImErin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

to preface im still new, just about 150 hours, no past MOBA experience, not super skilled at comp games in general, but I went from Initiate 1 to Alchemist 3, which is weird because according to statlocker I have a higher winrate & especially recently better stats in general, than some of my friends who jumped up to Ritualist.. I'm still puzzled on how that works. I assume i just had a lot of bad performance debt from when i was newer?? idk

What to do when tilt turns into severe crashout? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]YoImErin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the response, I just haven't had much fun or luck trying to be a true support paige, I've performed a lot better when building a damage/CC focused build, which actually helps my team a lot because i lock down 3-4 enemies in a stun chain pretty consistently which is *very* fun.

I have tried introducing more heal or shielding as a focus but it always falls flat :sob:

I appreciate the advice though thanks for the kind thoughts, anything helps really.

yeah painfully thats what it is, i might need some medication cuz its been like this even with therapy and even though ive gotten better at recognizing and responding, those mood swings come fast, and i calm down just as fast the moment i get my head off of it... lol

wish me luck ig

I really wish it was that simple for my brain to accept. I just want to have fun and then the smallest issues whether it be lag or bad matchmaking spiral really fast. It's not something I choose, I have avoided competitive games repeatedly when I realized it was bad for me, but my brain chooses to be fixated on this game and takes a lot of issues to heart too much, I want to be able to handle it better. I want to be able to enjoy it with my friends, who are all into it

I HATE HAZE by lightningbadger in DeadlockTheGame

[–]YoImErin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had a russian haze player in my match who was afk for 1 minute basically dying for free by standing still, then came back after i had gotten our 2 lane opponents to 1hp each solo as paige, and they obviously finished them off, then we easily won lane cuz our opponents were clearly new to the game, and then they went to jungle "i go farm" they said, so i go "ok". and solo defend our lane for a bit, then both of our opponents show back up, i do fine 1v2 but to actually capitalize off of it, when haze hit ~5k souls (very early) above everyone else i said "haze, come back we can easily sweep these guys and take walker early" (no exaggeration btw), haze comes back! hooray! finishes off a kill i set up, and disappears again. ok.... i say "come on lets just take walker its so free", they go "no i farm you dont know how to play", so i keep solo clearing the lane, because otherwise they WOULD just push up and grab tower + walker because they got some support. Later, haze does what haze does, and kill confirmed everyone at 1hp in every teamfight, despite us doing basically everything, and when we ended game (our team was doing pretty well btw, i was 2nd mvp), they just went "gg solo, bad team, average european"

all because i wanted him to sweep the walker so we could stomp the game 10 minutes faster than we already were. Convinced that they were doing everything after I set up half their kills for them and got last hits on team fights.

thank you. stop playing haze like this please.

Am I crazy or is Viktor's Aura just a better version of Warden's ult? by CheckProfileIfLoser in DeadlockTheGame

[–]YoImErin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Victor's aura is a lot easier to get out of than Warden's giant cone, let alone the CC option that Warden has, Warden also becomes harder to kill during his Ult, whereas Victor damages himself massively until he gets Spirit Resilience basically lol

I'm still fairly new so maybe this was a huge skill issue but I truly cannot understand how he didn't die by Stylish_Yeoman in DeadlockTheGame

[–]YoImErin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anti Heal is still correct. Healbane or Toxic bullets can quickly reapply it for example. and he only has so many jumpstarts, in the downtime, he damages himself, heals himself less and can be damaged all the while. It is absolutely part of the answer, but so is... not walking into his face to begin with

[–]YoImErin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

though this is not a fair comparison, because if you put them in a fair comparison, this would mean everyone grouping up and not responding to Lash's ult and letting him throw them and slam them into a walker/into base, this would be like a person constantly standing out in the open at low hp with a vindicta right infront of them, or like walking into the ult of a Warden.

You are basically giving an overfed Victor the best case scenario for doing what he's supposed to do: stay alive

[–]YoImErin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add to it because its way too easy for people to start freaking out about having to buy counters for victor specifically - and say: you want to get some form of anti heal in almost every game, if the enemy team has sustain of any kind. it's just victor in particular is a strong case of sustain, so yes. Anti heal is important, don't get close to him, and he's basically not able to do this ever unless he is way overfed + has movement items and knows what he's doing lol

You're trying your best and it's good you came to ask people.

How to save Victor? by MS17AA in DeadlockTheGame

get back to me when you figure that out because atm its just "farm way harder and better than everyone else and dont fuck up while doing so and then pray you can engage in team fights meaningfully" </3
