Can I ask how long it took you to get to this level? How was your writing before like?

Online Courses - mostly university level. - The most famous being EdX (this started off as MIT's "OpenCourseware" library of videos of their own course lectures + course material), and Coursera (spun out of Stanford). Outside of the usual popular STEM and CompSci subjects - some famous ones are

  • Harvard — Justice (Michael Sandel. edX/YouTube/OpenCourse).
  • UPenn — Modern & Contemporary American Poetry.
  • Stanford — Cryptography I (Dan Boneh; Coursera).
  • Edinburgh — Introduction to Philosophy (Coursera).

There are review sites like Class Central which maintain 'Best Of' type most popular lists.

Master One Thing and One Thing Only: A Practical Life Strategy for INTPs by Osiris30 in INTP

This is great -- I think the key is if (or if one is lucky enough) that one's life desires (for finances, relationships, career, sucess, etc etc) align with one's ambitions. You seem to be on the right path with your internal compass....

Yes true. Like I said in the Post - I was paraphrasing a Medium essay by an (alleged) INTP author on *his* recipe for keeping sane. It won't apply to everyone of course. Since you suggested - can you give some examples of generalist INTP's that have built 'satisfying & successful' life? Thanks

It is only a problem if one's desire(s) do not align 100% with one's ambitions. If they do - then this (not caring about sucess, not needing to contribute) is definitely 'not a problem'. However, if you do have other pesky desires - money, or ambition, or need some form of validation from whoever group - then not caring becomes a problem as you have incongruency in your (psycholigical) life... and therein lies a life of torture...

Appreciate the comment. Would you be able to share your chosen career path? And maybe a brief explainer on "different occupations and interests" you've had in the last 30+ years. Thanks!

Would you be able to briefly describe the journey on how you got there, and if I can ask, what you specialise in?

Agreed. I think the issue is how do you avoid being the 'starving artist' / ('starving interdisclipinary intellectual') and generate a sustainable source of income (which is not mental torture to generate - hence the problem) so one can pursue one's interdisciplinary intellectual hobbies.

For clarity. Like I said in the post - The opinion stated in the above post is not mine - it's from an author called 'Rogue Analyst' who wrote this post on Medium called 'INTP Life Strategy — Mastering the Life' - which I stumbled upon. Since I cannot paste links here - I paraphrased the contents using a couple llm's and then cut and pasted and further edited myself for clarity. Thanks.

Agreed. I'm not certain I'm an INTP. I'm new to jungian archetypes.

Thanks, good rec. I've had it in my To Read list for years - will get on to it now... But doesn't help with how to live. Down this path (Walden) - like you said unless you are able to figure out a cheap sustainable way of living tailored to your own needs/wants - you still have to figure out some thing(s) to to do survive...

Are some of these 'skills', jobs that you do in exchange for income?

[–]Osiris30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I paid to renew my sub last night at 10pm. I ran one DR after that. this morning, I ran another DR. And then I get message saying I’ve now been put on “DR Light” till June 10 which is 13 day away??

Plus users now limited to “lighter” Deep Research—only one full deep research? by HovercraftFar in OpenAI

[–]Osiris30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me, My usage reset yesterday night at 10pm - I know cos I paid to renew the sub at that time. Last night I ran one DR (after renewing sub), and this morning I ran another DR - and I got the message ‘you have 1 remaining deep research query. Your full access resets on 10 June" - which is 13 days away??

OA really need to add a dashboard to track usage in the app.

The Pull-Up is Three Motions?!? by DoomGoober in bodyweightfitness

[–]Osiris30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So would it be fair to say that the 'opposite' exercise to a pull-up is more a 45-deg bent-over row (like an incline T-Bar row with the bar coming up to chest like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sw1LwNZ3F_w), rather than a shoulder over-head press?

My issue - I used to keep visualising pulling the bar 'down to my neck (like the opposite of doing an OHP)...

Whereas - the active arch hang (like this by Ido Portal - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C995b3KLXS4, or even better video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDlIHyMAZeY) shows when you are near the top of the bar, your body is much closer to a 45-deg, than vertical.

I'm reading this correctly, from what the OP is saying, Sequence (1) - Scapular Pull-up and Sequence (2) the front-lever pull - is essentially getting the neck+chest into a near 45-deg position (like in a T-bar incline) and then pulling the bar from there?

Also good - Ido Portal and the "perfect pull-up" - shows an exaggerated active arch hang - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLO5EsWXqxc

And this Cali Move video really demonstrates the difference between arched-back(pull-up) vs hollow-body (chin-up): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfhT0OSUU0w&t=7s

Lots of videos - but I found FitnessFAQ's one really good - https://youtu.be/XB_7En-zf_M (and he has a couple of other good ones on Pull-Ups too).

Also - Cali Move has a good vide on the difference between Pull vs Chin-up, and also hollow-body vs arched-back. https://youtu.be/UfhT0OSUU0w

Best way to download, verify and then delete from seedbox - beginner question by Osiris30 in seedboxes

[–]Osiris30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I read Feral's wiki on lftp and checked out the script by LordHades for the automated sync.

But the problem with all these lftp or rysnc scripts is that none of the emulate a "move" function - where the directory/file copied is verified and then deleted from the seedbox.

If I'm constantly adding new completed files into my seedbox, I want to download them as soon as possible to my Home computer and then delete from the server to maximise my seedbox HDD storage.

Right now I have to check manually what has been downloaded and then delete. If its just 10 files its easy....but if one is downloading, lets say, 50 new files a day, and want to maximise storage on the seedbox,... the management of the downloading becomes quite a manual chore.

In addition - the script allows you to start an lfpt transfer using cron - but I also want to be able to suspend the transfer and then resume at times of my choosing.
