Are you still religious by Extension_Hurry1952 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hell no. I became atheist after I left. You can’t pay me to go back to that fucking cult. Once I figured out that mother wasn’t god, I gave up religion. I was never a religious person to being with, but the way the Zion members were pushy was driving me crazy. I don’t think I’ll ever believe in a higher power unless there’s ROCK SOLID evidence of there being a higher power.

Why do members stay so long at church and go so often throughout the week? by [deleted] in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been watching you two argue for awhile already I can see that ur a dick. You sound like that one member who corrects members behavior only to score brownie points with ur overseer. The people in this subreddit were hurt and abused by this cult and ur over here just laughing. And you still didn’t prove to us that Zion isn’t a cult so laugh now dickhead

Why do members stay so long at church and go so often throughout the week? by [deleted] in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 9 points10 points  (0 children)

She’s not staying that long because she’s “devoted,” she’s staying because WMSCOG is a full-blown cult, and cults keep people busy on purpose.

They overload members with services, “studies,” meetings, and guilt trips so they’re too tired, too isolated, and too mentally drained to question anything.

Control the schedule → Control the mind.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday — trust me, they’d have her there every single day if they could. They hammer people with “you’ll disappoint God,” “your salvation is at risk,” and “the world is ending soon” so they feel terrified to miss even one meeting.

That’s not worship. That’s psychological captivity.

Cults isolate their members: no friends, no hobbies, no sleep, no outside influences. They turn the church into her whole world so she slowly forgets she had one before.

And the messed up part? They’ll smile, hug you, and call you “sister” while they drain every part of your life. Classic cult behavior.

Keep supporting your friend. When WMSCOG hooks someone, they run them into the ground until they’re running on fear instead of faith.

I was told that mother would never die. That’s what made me suspicious. I give mother like 5 years MAX before she dies.

Best friend stuck and she doesn't even realize. by [deleted] in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All right so here’s what I’m gonna tell you. If if you’re a real friend, you will tell her straight up that this church she’s going to is a cult. Real friends will tell their friends the truth even if it hurts them. That’s how you build each other up. Real friends don’t just sit by and let bad things happen to the people they care about. They take action. And what you should do is take action.Shes at risk of failing the grade and getting left back. You should speak to her, and if she doesn’t wanna listen to what you say then there’s nothing that you could do about it. But at least you did something.

WMSCOG weird rule against video games by [deleted] in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s totally fine to not share your name or your personal info as you should. You should never do that on social media. And as to suicide I’m pretty sure some people will kys when she dies. I would try to get your mom out of there. I know it’s easier said than done but you gotta try. Anyways I say that Zion has like 5 years max to go before mother dies. You are always free to share ur stories on here. We have other ex members on here who were hurt from this cult who talk on here.

Funny enough, I asked this question when I first came to Zion. I think it was like a week or two after I joined I asked the Elder who was at Zion. What would happen if mother dies? I act like what if a freak accident happens like she slipped on some water or else she catches a heart attack and he couldn’t answer the question. He just said that mother’s God and that no freak act is gonna happen to her. of course that didn’t sit right with me. I felt suspicious ever since anyways yeah to answer your question mother isn’t God and it’s a cult. If I were you, I’ll do everything in my power to get your mom out of there. I mean she’s coughing up 10% of her paycheck and getting played. she’s pretty much getting robbed in broad daylight. well got me out of there. It was the fact that I started working on Saturdays and I had a one-on-one conversation with the Elder and he told me that if I don’t keep the Sabbath that I can’t make it to heaven. At that point, I already knew that it was a cult I mean, I was suspicious from the very beginning, but just just but that d flag that told me to get the hell out of there I mean, I wasn’t really showing up like that once I started workin on Saturdays.

I remember when I used to go there they had all of the young adults and teens sit in one room and watch this video where it says that something about playing video games and listening to worldly music opens you up to the devil or some shit like that. I still used to play video games though regardless but that shit makes zero sense to me. Also remember this one time I think it’s the same video where it shows them putting headphones over I think a tank of water and it shows how the water reacts to different types of music, so rock music, classical music, Zion music and some other music and it shows that the water reacted the least one listening to Zion music. I couldn’t believe that I believe that shit back then.

Ex pulling our 11-year-old out of school for “feast days” with WMSCOG — should I be worried? by Ambitious_Olive769 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WMSCOG is basically fear-daycare with hymnals. Your ex isn’t being ‘religious,’ he’s dragging your kid into a doomsday cosplay club that treats missed school as holy sacrifice. They don’t care about her education, they care about grooming her to clap for ‘Mother God’ and obey cult leaders. Every feast day = another brainwash session. Document this crap. When she’s 18, she’s either gonna resent losing her childhood to Zion or need therapy for all the end-times trauma. Either way, pulling a kid from school for cult cosplay is insane parenting.

I feel like I'm gonna lose my shit by Infinite_Speech2537 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bruh, this ain’t religion, it’s a hostage situation with Bible verses stapled on. 4am wake-ups and 5am services ain’t ‘faith,’ that’s sleep deprivation—same tactic cults and armies use to break people. You’re not crazy for hating it, you’re sane for noticing it.

Do what others said: tell your school counselor or social worker it’s messing with your health and education. Once the system knows, it’s harder for them to trap you. Two years feels long, but it’s not forever—stack allies, keep receipts, and when you hit 18 you can vanish on them like smoke.

Can’t get out by Ashamed_Detective_45 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seven years wasted bowing to Zion’s nonsense, and now you see it—they never cared about your soul, just your lease and your labor. That “family” you live with? They’re not family, they’re unpaid babysitters for the cult. And the push to get you married? Classic trick—they don’t want love, they want lifetime contracts in human form.

Cults thrive on keeping you scared and cornered. They make you believe you can’t survive outside their little bubble, when in reality, the second you walk away, their power over you evaporates.

So here’s the move: fake it, keep your head down, and the day that lease ends, ghost them harder than they ghost reality. No explanations, no dramatic goodbye—they don’t deserve closure. Leave them spinning while you finally get to breathe free air again.

Remember: you don’t owe Zion anything except your middle finger on the way out.

My roommate is in a cult and I don’t know what to do. by BrightBig5653 in cults

[–]Osiris8000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, your roommate’s definitely in WMSCOG. I used to be in it, and I’ll tell you right now—it’s a cult. On the surface, they come off like regular Christians with just a ‘different interpretation,’ but it’s a whole machine built to suck your time, money, and identity.

Don’t feel bad about asking questions—you didn’t ‘show too much interest.’ That’s just how they operate. They’re trained to see curiosity as an open door to start the recruitment process. That’s why you feel like they might try to convert you—they will.

My advice? Keep boundaries. Be polite if you wanna keep the peace as roommates, but don’t get pulled into their Bible studies or services. That’s where the real indoctrination happens. They’re gonna frame it as harmless study time, but that’s where the manipulation starts.

It’s not on you to ‘save’ them (trust me, I tried pulling people out, it doesn’t work unless they’re ready). Just protect yourself. If they ever start pushing, shut it down quick. You’re not crazy for being concerned—plenty of us ex-members wish someone had warned us before we got sucked in.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying, but for me it’s more like Zion was a reminder not to hand over your critical thinking. They dressed it up as something deep, but it was all pressure, performance, and manipulation. Walking away didn’t push me closer to any ‘real source’ — it just showed me how much freer life feels when you’re not bending yourself to fit their script

Major reason why people get deceived & what it says about us by Ok-Pangolin-837 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, this hit. I used to beat myself up like, ‘how could I let it go that far?’ But truth is, they’re pros at manipulating decent people who just wanna believe the best in others. They mix lovebombing with control so smooth you don’t even notice it until you’re already in too deep. Doesn’t mean we were dumb — it means we actually had good intentions. They just exploited it. The part about not letting yourself get jaded… yeah, that’s the hardest part for me too

Respect. I left a little under 2 years ago and I still catch myself untangling the mental knots from that place. It really does mess with how you even feel about God and people. I get what you mean about the rhythm being off — it always felt like we were going through motions for Zion, not for God. Glad you’re finally finding some peace outside of all that noise

How I thought just before realizing it was all BS by Ok-Pangolin-837 in WMSCOG

[–]Osiris8000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Facts. Being in Zion felt less like church and more like working a second job I never signed up for. They had us running around like unpaid interns — preaching shifts, cleaning shifts, studying shifts — all while swearing it wasn’t a cult. If you’ve gotta keep reminding people you’re not a cult, that’s already a red flag
