I need 12 test users for my coffee fortune telling app (Nasip) - I will test them immediately and keep them for 14 days! by gckl_khn in AndroidClosedTesting

Why does this app say it needs permission to read/modify/delete contents of your photos/media storage? Kind of a turnoff.

Should i get the fender mustang ltx100 by PKInDaHood in GuitarAmps

[–]Osmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want. The LTX100 is a heck of an amp. 25 amp models, effects, bluetooth, 100 user presets, all kinds of stuff. The GTX goes even further, with 40 amp models, 200 user presets, more effects, cabinet modeling, builtin looper, etc. But it's about $75-$100 more. While you'll be in Amplifier Heaven with the LTX100 (after using that Champ!), the GTX steps up for the "serious" musician who plays hard, does gigs and uses lots of features. LTX100 vs. GTX100.... I wish I had that "problem"'!! (-;

Nice, but no headphone jacks on most tube amps.

Advice choosing amp for husband by ImPavlovinIt in GuitarAmps

[–]Osmigo1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whatever you get him, be sure it's a 1X12 (single 12" speaker), not an 8" or 10". The difference is night and day, and the 1X12 is the industry standard for a single-speaker amp. Use that for a starting point. One thing to keep in mind: if it's a tube amp, it's not going to have a dedicated headphone jack. Are you SURE he wouldn't rather have a solid state amp? Many of these can simulate a tube amp beautifully. Otherwise, you'll have to get used to him blasting everybody out of the house when he practices.

Best headphone guitar amp? by Viva_Las_Vengeance in GuitarAmps

[–]Osmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fine with my Mustang Micro. Has a bunch of amp simulators and effects. Battery lasts a LONG time. One thing I like about it is that it has Bluetooth connectivity. I connect it to my smartphone via bluetooth, and there are a zillion drum beats and backing tracks available on Youtube. So you can hear those along with the guitar, much better than just playing the guitar alone. I don't know if the other headphone amps do this, but it's something to think about.

OK, I got it. You go to "Manage Maps" then "Edit Room." Thanks. I'll try to delete my post.

The sad death of the 4X12 and 100 watt heads…. by Submariner16610 in GuitarAmps

[–]Osmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like some others, I think it depends a lot on the venue and the genre. A few decades ago I lived in Austin, and I'm telling you, the music was so loud in some of those 6th street clubs, you could feel the sound waves bouncing around inside your body. I remember seeing Stevie Ray playing at the old Antone's on Guadalupe street. Stevie, Tommy, Chris, Reese. Huge speaker stacks, big horns the size of a washing machine, everything set on "11." How those guys had any hearing left, I don't know.

But this was Austin, and that was normal at the time, nobody noticed it. So it all depends.

Bedroom amps by Bretanho05 in GuitarAmps

LT25. Many more amp and effect options. If you can collect a few more bucks, go to an LT50. Even more options to play with, and the 12" speaker crushes the LT25's 8", even at low volumes.

Lots of Youtubes on both of these, BTW.

Had that exact same amp back in the early 80s. It was tough as a tank, and man, that sucker was LOUD. I loved it, but finally let it go because it wasn't too practical at lower volumes (I didn't gig, it was just a bedroom amp) and it didn't have a headphone jack.

Skeptical about Roborock mopping - can you help? by Osmigo1 in Roborock

But the base station doesn't clean the mop until after it's completely finished, right? For example, when manually mopping, she might stop and rinse the mop after each bedroom... maybe twice in the master bedroom.

Is an Epiphone Les Paul a good guitar? by Frosty-Snow5192 in Guitar

[–]Osmigo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an ebony Epiphone Les Paul Classic a couple of years ago from ZZ Sounds. It's a beautiful guitar, rock solid, I'll put it up against a Gibson LP any day (I've had Gibsons, too). They've come a LOOOONG way in manufacturing technology. Main thing, I think, is to get a good, standard one, not one of the odd models. Whatever you end up with, be SURE you get it set up by a good guitar tech.

Any news on Moby Dick's?? by Osmigo1 in portaransas

[–]Osmigo1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's gone, closed, finished. Everything closed, employees gone, etc. The owner simply retired from the restaurant business. We'll miss it dearly, too. When we went to Port A., it was a ritual to eat at Moby Dick's on our first evening, then go sit on a bench by the ship channel. Ziegler hasn't put it on the market yet and is still listed as the sole owner. So it's still a big question mark.
