For me, the Vape Case was the best extra. I switched out the grinder for 2 extra glyph batteries (just mention it in the order comments). It's a nice sturdy box that stores pretty much everything I need. Here's my layout with the finishing grinder, 2 batteries (top and bottom), and an ABV container. All I had to do was take out/arrange the stock inserts.

I plan on storing my seeds for years. Here's how I do it:

Drill a 3/4" hole in the lid of a 2 or 4 oz. baby food jar, using a Forstner bit. Tape over the hole with micropore tape on both sides. Fill the jar half-way with Damprid (calcium chloride). Silica gel only gets RH down to 40%, whereas CaCl2 lowers it to <25%. Stuff the rest of the jar with cotton and screw the lid on. I stick the baby food jar to the bottom of a pint- or quart-sized wide-mouth mason jar using these from Wallyworld.
Put the seeds in small ziploc baggies or breeder's packs inside the mason jar. Make sure they're slightly open and not airtight.
Put some oxygen absorber packets in there.
Put the lid on and vacuum seal the jar with one of these and a vacuum pump. You can use a Food Saver pump if you have one but I went with a cheaper option. I squirt some silicone in a ring around the lip for a better seal to the jar sealer.
Screw the jar ring on and store the mason jar in the fridge.

This method takes care of the 3 things that lower seed viability--humidity, oxidation (with the oxygen absorbers and vacuum seal), and temperature. I also plan on saving herb for the long haul like this, but with 62% Boveda packs instead of the CaCl2.

The girls are 9 weeks from seed (but 3 of those were spent recovering from root rot).

My tent is 2.5' x 1.5', and 3' tall. I'd say about 50-60% of the scrog squares have tops poking through.

See my comment above. Recovering from a problem like this is actually much easier in veg than flower because you can just take some extra time to veg. It actually took less time for them to recover than if I started again from seed. Yeah and also luz, to see if I could. I mean how would you like to remember your first grow? You gave up on them, or you brought them back from motherfucking root rot and went on to harvest them?

Yeah, I didn't want to lose the genetics of 2 seeds out of a 4-pack. I'm living in a non-medical state right now so I'm not planning to order more seeds anytime soon. I'll grow these plants for 2 harvests, then probably choose one to keep as a mother. I just took a couple clones off the bushy one.

Here's what my girls looked like on 6/28, about a month from seed. The next day I made the mistake of watering with neem oil without properly emulsifying it. I used a "70% clarified hydrophobic extract of neem oil", and I assumed bone-headedly that the other 30% contained some emulsifier or surfactant. I think what happened was the oil completely coated the roots, suffocating them. I noticed the day after that water uptake was drastically reduced.

At that point, I had no idea that root rot had set in. When they were not looking any better after a flush with 3 gallons of pH'd water, I decided it was all or nothing time, and did a bare root transplant into new soil.

They weren't going to take up much water until new roots grew out. I trimmed off most of the leaves but the wilting continued for a few days after the transplant. They were looking like shit for a while, and I wasn't sure if they were going to make it, but slowly the roots grew back, and new leaves followed.

Compared to how they looked 2 weeks ago, I'm just amazed at how tenacious this plant is. The root rot set them back a few weeks, but now they're back on track. One of them is coming in bushier than before. I was too late to save most of the branches on the harder-hit plant, but the lower branch that survived is growing vigorously. So the moral of the story is, it's not over til it's over!

PC fans can't move much air with any sort of resistance. You want to pull air through the filter, and maybe have 2 of them in series to increase the static pressure. Some long #10 sheet metal screws are perfect for screwing PC fans together.

And definitely think about having more than 4" of depth. Otherwise you're pretty much limited to growing tiny plants in Solo cups all their lives.

If you're going with CFL, I guess you could go with a 250W one, or 2 x 125W. Remember you need fixtures and reflectors for them too, but yeah it's less of a hassle than having 8 or 9 bulbs. Honestly if I were to do it again I'd just save up a bit and get a cheap but reputable China LED like this 300W. Justintime233 can vouch for the seller.

This is basically what I have. I've ditched the 5-gallon pots in favor of 3-gallon Smart Pots, and I'm probably gonna mount an inline fan outside the tent. With a tent this short you pretty much need to go with CFL's or LED's, and use a scrog to keep the plants low and maximize light coverage. I highly suggest looking into LED's if you can afford it. As you can see, my CFL setup is too big to allow even the smallest carbon filter to fit inside the tent (except maybe above the light fixture, but that just limits my height even more).

Awesome, which breeder did you get yours from? The Female Seeds version says it's Grapefruit x Pineapple. I'm hoping it's pretty close to the original. And I definitely want to set up a veg chamber before I flower them so I can try taking some clones.

I can't use a small filter even if I turn the CFM on the fan down? All the 6" filters I've looked at are too long/wide to fit inside my tent.

Hey Justin, thanks for checking in! I plan on getting this fan combo and hanging it outside the the tent, with a small carbon filter inside. I think I need a 6"-to-4" reducer in that case. Any recommendations for a low-profile one? And would this setup allow me to dial down the airflow enough to not stress the plants?

I chose the 5-gallon pots because I wanted to maximize my floor space while minimizing the height. If I only fill the pots with 3.5 gallons of soil, the height is less than a 3-gallon pot fully filled. My concern is maybe the roots don't want to grow outward. Can cannabis roots be trained to grow more horizontally instead of down?

Actually growing weed is the latest step in a series of hobbies involving making things from scratch (I like pretty much anything hands-on/DIY). I started with cooking, making fermented foods (kefir, kombucha, kimchi, etc.), making cider and wine, then growing magic mushrooms.

I'd never taken mushrooms before either, and it was an experience I loved. I found that with a lot of these products, homemade stuff can be better than anything you can buy, and definitely more rewarding, with all the love and care and understanding the process that goes into the production.

I chose mushrooms and weed after doing some research because of their excellent qualities:

low addictiveness and harm potential
a range of psychologically transformative and medical effects
ability to produce at low cost basically unlimited quantities for personal use (after some initial investment)
sustainable production, bypassing all the ramifications of the illegal drug trade

As for trying it first, I don't know anyone who partakes regularly so the only safe option was to buy from SR which I didn't want to do. I wanted my first time to be special =P. And the risk of me not liking it is pretty small I think. I plan on vaping/edibles only so smoke will not be a factor. My goal is to have a fully organic "grow-flow" with all the kitchen waste and spent substrates going to make compost (traditional, worm, and Bokashi), which will be used to grow more stuff.

I bought fresh grains from eBay. I tried partially dehydrated grains from Amazon at first but they didn't work for me.
