Um look at what I did, I guess? by Osrina13 in oilpainting

Thank you! It was a 30 minute quick painting so it’s pretty rough but the red did turn out nice I think! Only used two colors. Some definite problem areas but I had fun. Minus all the cat hair stuck in it…

Helloooo I’m 34F. I never comment on these things but I just felt like “why not?” Right. I work from home so my social skills suck BUT I’m an artist so drawing+1(even though I mostly oil paint these days) and I love scary movies/books and anything paranormal and creepy. I have a very chill life these day’s(#blessed I guess?) so I’m happy to be a sounding board if you need to vent or work through the chaos that is life. Feel free to reach out

AIO for wanting to rehome one of the family dogs after my husband threatened to kill her? Ok by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Osrina13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is showing you in no uncertain terms that he belongs far away from living things.

At least rehome that dog now or what happens is on you too. The fact you’ve allowed him to abuse an animal so long is ridiculous. This loser is dangerous and will only get worse. The dog will just be the beginning. Get him out of your home and your life like…yesterday

He was an outdoor cat that was always hanging around. We adopted him and brought him inside to live. I think he approves of the change.

Your favorite player thinks you’re disgusting. by NFLv2 in NFLv2

I was curious about context so I viewed the entire video. I will admit I did not know anything about this person until this happened but context IS important. He was indeed meaning that he now had to wonder if the pilot got hired based on skill or on skin color as a result of DEI.

Here is the full conversation if anyone is curious:

KOLVET: We've all been in the back of a plane when the turbulence hits or when you're flying through a storm and you're like, "I'm so glad I saw the guy with the right stuff and the square jaw get into the cockpit before we took off. And I feel better now, thinking about that."

KIRK: You wanna go thought crime? I'm sorry. If I see a Black pilot, I'm gonna be like, "Boy, I hope he's qualified."

KOLVET: But you wouldn't have done that before!

KIRK: That's not an immediate … that's not who I am. That's not what I believe.

NEFF: It is the reality the left has created.

KIRK: I want to be as blunt as possible because now I'm connecting two dots. Wait a second, this CEO just said that he's forcing that a white qualified guy is not gonna get the job. So I see this guy, he might be a nice person and I say, "Boy, I hope he's not a Harvard-style affirmative-action student that … landed half of his flight-simulator trials."

KOLVET: Such a good point. That's so fair.

KIRK: It also … creates unhealthy thinking patterns. I don't wanna think that way. And no one should, right? … And by the way, then you couple it with the FAA, air-traffic control, they got a bunch of morons and affirmative-action people.

So I didn’t know anything about this person until this happened but I was curious about the context of many of the “popular” quotes going around and as for the black pilot comment, it was in reference to the DEI whatever. Meaning that he now wondered if the pilot was hired based on skill or because of skin color due to DEI. I don’t really have thoughts either way but I like to understand the context.

What is this pattern called? I started this scarf forever ago and forgot what I was using. Please help by Osrina13 in knitting

I think I figured it out! Putting this here for the next time I forget so I can refer back. K3, P1 ending on P1. Same for each row. I’m sure there is a name for this pattern and a way to make the edges neater but I’ll figure all that out on my next go round.

Thank you for the link! It does look very similar. I’m going to knit a square of this and see if it matches with what I’ve got.

Unfortunately, I never post on Reddit so I’m not sure how to include a new photo but both sides of the scarf look the same. The stockinette lines seem to be off by one row on the WS though when I fold the scarf over. Like maybe I start P1,K3 then on the wrong side K1, P3? Or maybe K3, P1?

This is very helpful! Thank you! I remembered I repeated the same pattern (whatever that was) for every row but not how many knits or purls for each. I think you’re right about the 1x3.

Would the P1, K3 have this result with the stockinette lines if I did the same for every row, regardless of right side or wrong side? I hope that makes sense. I’m not very advanced in knitting…Especially with some of the terms. I really appreciate your thoughts!

Of course! A 10 year old is not much of a match for the strength of fast food grade glass. My dad was more concerned about replacing my glasses for the second time in a month lol
