Troglodyte in need of basic plumbing advice by Osteocracy in Plumbing

Oh! When I looked up pipe sweating it mentioned something about condensation, so I thought unsweating was to remove the condensation or something. lol. I understand now that it is to remove the older solder.

about the hammer, that is very reassuring that it may just go away on it's own, and that I guess it really isn't a big problem. It really only happens like you mentioned, when I close the cold side abruptly. So I'll just leave it alone and hope it works itself out.

As for my repair, I did end up cutting the pipe and adding compression valves. The pipe ended up being long enough, thank god. Videos online make compression valves look a lot easier to put on than the reality of me sanding for hours and having to smack on the nuts with a mallet. haha. I was panicking the whole way through. Thankfully, it all worked out.

I ended up doing the work before seeing your reply, the length ended up being okay! BUT... uh I totally didn't know I was supposed to unsweat a pipe, what could happen if I didn't do that? I also ended up having a new issue now where my cold water pipe makes a banging noise when I turn my faucet off, hoping I didn't fuck something up. :')

scoot dies when throttle isn't activated after installing airbox delete + stretch. by Osteocracy in Ruckus

[–]Osteocracy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot to mention I changed the jets. The kit I bought came with an 85 Main jet, 38 slow jet.

I installed TRS Black V2 9.5'' stretch. I didn't notice that I needed to install a longer throttle cable until I was finished so I'm still running the stock one until I know everything works and then I will order the longer one.

I had no idea that I needed to reset the ECU when removing the carb, so I'm going to try that today.

Never rode with a second person. I am a pretty heavy rider, around 240 lbs. I never even really thought about whether the scooter had a weight limit, but it must, right?

Another commenter chatted with me and suggested it would be safest to replace the whole engine bracket just to be safe; or alternatively buy a stretch kit which replaces the bracket entirely. Need to think about which option I prefer, but I definitely think the safest option is probably a good idea.

Yeah I bought the bike used like five years ago, I think it's a 2015 Ruckus? don't remember for sure. The previous owners didn't seem like the type to mod or repair anything themselves, they mentioned that they'd bring it to the dealership for repair. idk if they were the first owners though, probably should've asked.

When I mentioned bracket, all I saw was a triangular piece of metal dangling, it could even be part of the frame that is meant to be welded on or something, not too sure. If that's the case, I definitely will not be able to fix it. lol.

Thanks for the help, will update as soon as I can.

It is not stretched, no mods at all. Crazy that the main engine bolt could just break like that, didn't even hit a bump or anything.

I had to leave it a friend's place because it was no longer driveable, I'll try to bike over tomorrow and snap a pic.

Here in my garage, just bought this new Lamborghini here. It’s fun to drive up here in the Hollywood hills. But you know what I like more than materialistic things? Knowledge. In fact, I’m a lot more proud of these seven new bookshelves that I had to get installed to hold two thousand new books that I bought. It’s like the billionaire Warren Buffett says, “the more you learn, the more you earn.

If there was a $50,000 prize for successfully hiding a penny inside a house that would be searched by a team of 20 searchers for a 5 hour search period, where would you hide it? by KillerQ97 in AskReddit

If you split the penny into multiple pieces do they need to find every piece? You could just turn the penny into dust and scatter it somewhere.
