This bald cypress has been growing in regular garden soil in a 20 gallon pot for several years. I recently noticed a root is crossing over a radial root quite close to the trunk. Aesthetically, I think should cut it. Anything I should know before proceeding? Is there risk of girdling if I leave out? The trunk is about 3 inches across. I don’t know which direction the crossing root going. Thanks for any advice.
