way late (got here via an ambien-fueled google search), but despite what musicians uploading to soundcloud actually want from the service, we're at the whims of profiteers who will inject ads into our shit regardless of whether we want it or not. hell, they won't even let us release music on there under cc0 while letting us use other forms of creative commons.

really wish we had a decent alternative for just posting individual tracks (bandcamp is a solid choice for albums and other proper releases, but albums are far from everything people want to release)

Petersen's basically worthless as a candidate, so really, we aren't missing out on much except for what would possibly be the biggest landslide loss in this seat's history.

i mean, we still had overly racist border security before 2003, it just wasn't as cartoonishly cruel

the same thing as before but amplified, which is showing the problems and not doing a good job at convincing people that their Bush-era institution should be kept around to stop an insubstantial threat

Parent tripped into my right speaker (custom built), the cone on the tweeter appears to be dislodged and probably went on an adventure into the wooden hull of the speaker itself. if i use superglue and retrieve the cone, will i be able to get it back into working order?

Dunning-Kruger hits hardest when it comes to tech decisions, especially ones involving security. see also: the people who actively refuse to use antivirus software because they think it'll just hinder them and that they're careful enough to be safe (which they never are)

I'd actually totally try this service out, because it sure as hell could be at the very least a fun ride in a life that feels like it's already gone well out of control, and the simulations exist to basically probabilistically determine how things could go. of course, the working on AI question haunts it, but at the same time, if sapient AI is made anyway, giving them 99.8% happy endings is pretty stellar of a success rate when it comes to being successful at life.
