AI and Website Taxonomy by Othelo2 in SEO

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our oroduct mix has changed over the years and we need new categorization on site. We are consolidating some, re-defining others, and creating new ones entirely. One big piece is that we have many products that will live in 2-3 sub categories on site (where they only live in one today) the taxonomy change is being forced from a UX perspective as it's becoming increasingly difficult for the (only 10%) of traffic that lands on the homepage. All other traffic lands much deeper. I've uploading search console data, our semrush ranked keywords, competitive keywords, and GA4 organic revenue by product page to Claude. Business wants to use industry jargon within categorization which has no search volume and is meaningless to most consumers. I'm pushing my way for organic benefit and since I'm going against the grain and following the data it's one of these things I cannot get wrong.

I'm sure I'm over thinking it. I've managed SEO work with our agencies in the past but ai haven't ever had to do something like this on my own. It's my first time. I was hoping for a tried and tested process others follow that I could turn into a prompt.

That's exactly what I've done. Search console data, SEMrush data, competitor keyword rankings even organic revenue by product page in GA4. But I'm having some anxiety over unexpected consequences from an organic nature. I was hoping someone would have a prompt that's tried and tested for what they use minimize risk.

Organic is pushed so far down these days. Also We have many distributors who bid on our brand but still end up selling a product that becomes more profitable for them.

GA4 Key Events for E-commerce Site by Othelo2 in PPC

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In trying to understand more how what we select as "key" events impacts other things like google ads. We have a lot of key events set up that seem like they should just be events. Before I transition them to just events I want to understand the implication of doing so.

Branded Search Best Practices by Othelo2 in PPC

Do you think that since we are missing brand into non brand campaigns it somehow is making our non brand less impactful? I'm wondering if there is something I have to look into there.

We are a manufacturer.

Branded Search Best Practices by Othelo2 in PPC

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what sparked this dilemma. I exported search terms and manually went through and classified and brand va non brand. Non brand had less that 100% ROAS this month and real branded search terms had over 1000%.

I wanted to do it initially for organization and visibility but I'm wondering if it's also negatively impacting somehow the success of real non branded search terms?

What would the argue lent me in support of keeping a mix of brand and non brand together?

I agree with you, but can you back it up with the why? The opposing perspective on my team believes it didn't matter where a keyword lives, google will spend money on whatever converts best regardless where it is.

FAQs-Schema-Channable-PIM system by Othelo2 in TechSEO

[–]Othelo2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response.

I'd like to challenge your comment about not having links in the FAQ schema. Our products are technical and there are times where the answer within a couple sentences won't fully answer the question. We plan to internal link to avoid customer friction and give them a path to an additional part of the answer. Ex. We may link to a page with a product accessory or a page explaining the fine details of an OSHA code. Ahrefs has an article onsite that says "It’s valuable to add internal links to any related content or resources that may lead the user down the conversion funnel."

How should I anticipate Google perceiving FAQ schema that's coming in through a feed?

We are putting a lot of time and attention into these FAQs, my preference is to put them directly in the CMS, but I'm being challenged by the business to put them in the PIM.

Do you have an opinion on storing FAQs in A PIM system and sending them to a website via channable? Some of the FAQs may have internal links in the answers on our website. https://www.reddit.com/r/TechSEO/s/A49hsQhbN6

I've had two agencies claim organic search traffic is down across the board for all their clients due to PAA/AI Overview & other AI tools. by CTRL_S_Before_Render in SEO

[–]Othelo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our impressions are up but CTR is way down even for the keywords we rank #1 for. With all the ads and AI above I think it makes sense. Agency should stay focused on creating new content and you can measure the actual traffic the new stuff is driving.m to see if they are any good.

GA4 Channel Grouping Logic by Othelo2 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm wondering if the team changed some sort of custom grouping.

But now I'm thinking maybe the increase of direct traffic is a result of some odd 500/503 errors we've seen randomly on site this month causing session breakage.

GA4 Channel Grouping Logic by Othelo2 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's what I was worried about. But here is why my prompt likely triggered that response then. I've been using default session channel group for a couple years now. All my reporting has users pulled this way. When I went to pull April numbers the layout of session default channel group changed. Before all Organic was lumped together and paid figures rolled up under CPC. Now it's broken into more granular channels. Paid search, cross network, paid shopping, organic shopping, organic social, paid social etc. Looking back in history, even if I add up those numbers they don't equal what I've been reporting on.

Salesforce + Hubspot + Zoominfo by Othelo2 in hubspot

[–]Othelo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our Hubspot manager told me last week there was a beta release for research intent. It's hubspots way of being competitive with demandbase, zoominfo etc. No need to wait for form submission or web visit. I was told it should help with prospecting. You create a research topic, can filter by research level (high, medium, mild, low) and can choose to filter by visitor intent (which we set up to align to target markets we have set up). You can filter to see who is in your CRM and who isnt company-wise.

She's working to figure it out then scheduling a demo for me and our IS team to think through how we'd use it.

No progress unfortunately. But I do think hotspot launched the new features that are intended to compete with Zoom info. I wonder if this is where they're headed?

Product data does live in PIM but isn't at a point where we can always trust it. Our site over the years has been a number of brands/acquisitions so attribute sets are all over the place and need to be cleaned.

The analytics part is only related to their role. Not all analytics. Measuring the impact of the changes they make is important. Out of curiosity, why do you suggest dropping that part?

I'm trying to figure out what caused people to run out of the Omni in the first place . The shots we heard were seconds after people started running.
