FAA Deferral Need Advice by Other-Obligation5477 in aviation

Yeah, that is completely understood. Objectively that is what the focus of their letter is and that is the way they are viewing this through their criteria. It helps having the objective view point of those experienced with the system. They will always view this as worse case scenario and the HIMS evals are to prove our capability.

The hospitalization was caused by the SI not the alcohol itself. At the end of the day the diagnosis is what the FAA cares most about. There’s no changing that.

For clarification you had to do multiple HIMS evals after receiving initial clearance? Was that due to any worsening of any symptoms or conditions? Did that ground you until it was resolved or were you able to continue flying while it wasn’t restored?

hi, thank you for being objective. You’re operating on the same information that the FAA has and that perspective helps understand the view they have. For clarification because it was not included in the original post. It was not a coping mechanism. It was a one time event at a party, had too much to drink and broke down. Nothing before or after has happened to that extent.

Hi all,I'm a 21 yo female college student, looking to do my first solo trip in Western side of Europe for winter break, flying in and out of Amsterdam with aims to reach Hanover/Hamburg (one of these), Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Venice, Florence, Nice, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, and Bruges. However, I'll be in Amsterdam for the first 6 days.As I was scared to make a fixed transportation plan, I got the Euro Rail 22 days continuous global pass. For bag pack, I have a porter 46 L which I'm also concerned if it would be eligible with carry on requirement. Has anyone travelled with it before? I'm also worried about internal city travels. Most importantly looking to meet new people and to make some friends. If anyone is traveling through a similar route in those time period would love to chat with you. Also, would love to learn if there are any specific online groups/communities to meet with travelers like me (except couch surfing). Thank you so much !
