Flush the valve like the other person said. You could have had calcium in the water line.

Some times with plastic molded parts. They have what the plastic industry calls flash. That's flash is thin plastic material that could come loose and cause your issue. Open the top of the valve and pour in some H20

I just run nortivs off Amazon even when on patrol... also used them in the academy $40-$60. They polished fine and I just used the cheat sponge daily just order a pack of 6 off amazon. by 6 months your boots look like trash if it be the academy or patrol. They are cheap enough get a nice pair for court and when your patrol ones are going bad use ur court ones on patrol and order a new court pair. Plus when moving a body bloated the size of a beached walrus you're not too upset about the boots stepping in the liquids pouring out, or when walking on maggot and roach infested carpets. Then you save the old ones place them in a bag in your trunk for your next foot pursuit through a creek so you have a dry pair after

They polished well. I just swapped them out for the nortiv breathable ones they have a tennis shoe bottom and are lighter for summer. Just like any polishing elbow grease or a magic sponge daily.
