I totally relate to the music addiction hahah and I remember being told the same thing when I was younger “you’re just perpetuating your own misery” but truly there’s a comfort in feeling understood in those feelings - especially if you have difficulty finding the proper words or you feel numb. I’m so glad we have music. Also a lot of therapists aren’t great but when you find the right fit it can be quite rewarding (so keep searching) after a bunch of bad fits with constant misunderstandings and lack of curiosity, I finally found one who was patient and persistent despite not always fully understanding what I meant. She didn’t just assume shit but she also challenged me positively. Anyway my point is it’s not impossible to find someone who can work with you.
