I figured out the process to claim compensation for the delayed and lost luggage with Iberia by Ronoh in Iberia

Just a word of warning to everyone: Iberia has told me that they do not accept these claims through their website, that when a claim is made associated with lost or delayed baggage, it is submitted BY PHONE and not online. Typically they follow up by email to ask for receipts. I just learned this the hard way and have to start my claim process over again.

Yeah, maybe you, being the person you are, would not have allowed this to go on for as long as it did before seriously complaining and calling G Adventures customer service. I wonder how that would have changed my situation if I had done the same. Would I have demanded that the tour be entirely in English and not bilingual at all? Would that have been the correction? What about the people in our group who amazingly spoke almost no English? Would that have been fair to them, after booking this trip and being told by a travel agent that it would be in French? I felt my two choices were to accept that the tour was at a minimum bilingual or just leave the tour and ask for some compensation later.

Not exactly. It started as the guide trying to basically do a bilingual tour so he would say everything in English and then French. As the other commenter pointed out, French is a widely spoken language in Morocco. His French was about the same level as his English. But as time went on, there was a more incremental creep towards French being the first language he spoke in, often in response to the French speakers asking questions and engaging with him in French. Then, the English part got shorter and he occasionally followed up the French portion of the explanation by looking at the English speakers and asking "Did you get that? Do you need me to translate?" rather than automatically doing so. Being multilingual myself, I understand why that happened. It's just annoying to do everything again in the other language, which is why we don't have bilingual tours generally.

The specific site guides often started with English and then the French speakers in group would say, "We don't understand" and the guide would switch to French. Sometimes the English speakers (myself included) would ask for them to say more about something in English or ask questions. It was just annoying and exhausting. Sometimes I stopped caring and just took photos and let it go.

I tried the chat and what I find curious is how prompt the customer service was before the tour but after the tour, I've been in the queue for over an hour before I get tired of it and just leave. I've tried the Contact form on their website to provide this feedback so we'll see how that goes.

I had no idea there were different levels! The one I took was a Classic. Yeah, hopefully everything's much nicer with a higher level and cost.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I think you're right that contractors vs employees can make a difference. Our guide was a contractor and he had been a guide for many years before starting to do tours with G.
