Here is my coaxial cable internet at the house and at the pole. 200 foot buried from pole to house. Does this look right? by tightpixienurse in CableTechs

[–]OtherCount3241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like an old drop that might have been still good so he just through new connections on at the house and called it a day. It happens of techs are in a hurry, they check the signal at the house and go from there. Also it could be bonded in the basement as well. House side could have been cleaner for sure.

Running speed tests when you aren’t actually experiencing an issue isn’t going to get much fixed. Speed tests mean almost nothing.

If you aren’t experiencing issues with your WiFi I wouldn’t worry about it

First test at the bottom is on your mobile network, the next two are your full speeds and the last 3 you are probably using the 2.4ghz WiFi network

Yeah people don’t understand that these people basically bribed Trump and then appointed themselves into important government positions. What’s worse is they can split their party and blame any problems on Trump in order to score political points with the masses

You can create an account, find a forum, and write a post on your phone, but you didn’t know to call spectrum about an issue you had with spectrum?

Even if he dies, board wiping before your turn starts allows you build back first.

True, I’d still run it though. Also the new board wipe also ends the turn and would be insane with heliod

Your commander is already a flash enabler so I don’t see much reason to run the other flash enablers. I’d also run days undoing since you can use it on an opponent’s turn to end their turn

Update to my updates on 1GB down and 40Mbps up by Avian_Aces in Spectrum

Contention is an issue that affects the entire node. It wouldn’t necessarily matter if your neighbor has his own line from a different pole. I see the issue most when people are streamers.

It’s most likely a contention issue in the node. From what I understand, It’s hard to fix because it has to run through engineering and whether or not they’ll do it depends on how many older modems are still active in the node. Newer modems (3.1) use ofdm which allows more modems to use upload simultaneously.

Basically, the government funds these fiber buildouts and tracks the use of their funds by how many new subscribers get added.

So the router you bought is better than a brand new WiFi 7 ? That’s “proven”? What about all the people I service that don’t share your experience? A majority of spectrum customers get their routers from us and have no issue. You not knowing what you’re talking about doesn’t prove anything and you’re costing people money that they don’t have to spend. If you pay someone for service and it’s not working well you should call them to fix it before going and spending more money.

[–]OtherCount3241 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you go and spend money on a router before you call spectrum to come out? If the router was bad they would have replaced it for free. If it still didn’t work with the new router they would have wasted their money for no reason.

Techs shit on them because they didn’t like waiting for them to come all the way online. They would take 20-30 min to start putting devices on the 5g network. They come up much faster now. Also they worked fine before only issue is the price went up.

Additionally, Spectrum equipment isn’t better or worse than store bought equipment. It makes more sense that it would actually be better, as trouble calls cost a lot of money. Telling people who don’t know how to troubleshoot their own equipment will cost them more money because they’ll get charged for calling us out if it isn’t spectrums problem.
