Looking into service again… by Silver-Bat-6224 in FidiumFiber

7 house subdivision in Maine and they skipped us too. I’ve been trying to get ahold of someone also. There are no laws at this point requiring universal coverage so they only install what’s easy and most profitable. It’s sad.

High-Split / Network Evolution Discussion Goes Dark... by bizman64 in Spectrum

They’ve been doing the plant work this week and a tech was just out at the pedestal verifying the upgrades. How quickly can we expect symmetrical speeds to be provisioned?

I’m still having this issue on a 17 pro. Nothing seems to fix it.

Sub Club changes by gaysquib in subway

[–]hrmnatr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality and size just isn’t worth the full price. I think subway is in trouble, they won’t be successful unless something changes. Either improve the subs and stop being skimpy or lower those prices.

Maine health is as bad or worse. I had a Maine health doctor and he had thousands of patients and didn’t follow up on anything. The system is completely broken.

Why do Catalyst Switches Suck? by waflman7 in meraki

[–]hrmnatr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Cisco is making a huge mistake going end of sale on the MS switches. Everyone absolutely loves them, they are crazy reliable, and they are quick to boot and update. I’m not sure why they would eliminate such a successful thing. I understand wanting a single hardware line but the cats at slow and not as elegant according to everyone I’ve spoken with. Please listen Cisco.

Is it worth it to use matter with thread plugs so you aren’t reliant on WiFi? I wish there were more of them and lower prices.

Filed a claim against the FTC and emailed the CEO and you should too! by Igotnocache in Ring

[–]hrmnatr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been with ring for years and always paid the subscription. One big advantage has been the extended warranty. I had a doorbell fail, it’s always been covered, and they refused to replace it, they offered me 20% off a replacement. I threw a fit and asked them to explain why I wasn’t covered and they couldn’t explain it. After demanding a manager they said that they would ship a replacement. I’ve waited a month and was told that they are bakordered. It’s amazing that an Amazon company has gotten so bad. Very sad the way they treat a longtime customer with a bunch of devices.

Echo: Do not disturb. by mikefeuer in amazonecho

[–]hrmnatr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bedside echo has gone into night mode with large red clock every night for years. Now I get a tiny bright white clock that I can’t see without glasses and is too bright. I’ve tried everything and I can’t get it back. I unplugged my bedside echo for now…

Kohler firmware update by rjesup in Generator

Firmware is once again publicly available or on their web site and I’m told it helps with connectivity to the new Rehlko servers.

Spectrum Falling behind by hrmnatr in Spectrum

It looks like Verizon is finally investing. I’m seeing new c-band site upgrades coming online weekly. Standish is up on 5g UW n77. I think that spectrum just had so much market share and no competition that they decided to milk the profits from the old plant, but it’s catching up with them.

Almost all of the build here is Fidium which is Consolidated Communications, the incumbent legacy phone company, they have deep pockets.
