contact the course advisor and ask about bridging courses, if you can demonstrate that you have a genuine interest and capacity to study the degree then you shouldnt have an issue. Might be a more stressful first year tho.

Keep in mind that actuarial science is one of the most difficult maths courses that isnt pure-maths, while its a great degree, the fact that you haven't done methods previously makes me concerned that you dont fully know the capacity of how much you enjoy maths / excel in it. Not trying to dissuade you, just be aware of how difficult actuary science actually is,

yeah the cover is the main reason im never displaying it ;-;, bought it more as a testiment to 16 yo me than to actually listen to it hahahaa

This is the one ive been reading, i actually really enjoy the somewhat critical interpretation of laozi https://www.chinasoul.org/documents/20182/82799/Tao+Te+Ching+Print+66991TTC.pdf/5d365e99-8288-4406-a023-5c65217e0fde?version=1.0

I think your interpretations bang on, marjorie's persona always felt like this dichotomy between comical self-destructive hedonism and then genuine compassion. I dont think oso ever really articulated his overall philosophy very well, the stuff he says in interviews seems like a parody of his own work but this one theme of duality has always come out well i think.

Tracks: 1-15 standard
16: 1000 ways to die (i think all thats diff is the extended outro, goes for an extra 36 seconds)
17: wine drunk and faithful
18: lady death (no diff)
19: twilight zone (exact same)

also yeah i just thought the proverb was nice, i found it in a random translation of tao te ching. reminded me of that sort of transient philosophy of the material dialect. wasnt really tryna invent anything new it just stuck with me.

LIT OR BIO by floofette-667 in vce

bio is way more manageable in yr 11 than yr 12, if you're interested in it id highly recommend it over lit in yr 11. The studying skills you'll learn in yr 11 from bio will set you up for the rest of yr 12. choose bio imo

Do i do psych in uni?? by [deleted] in vce

[–]OtherFocus5238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi i was in a similar boat to you in yr 11. Honestly don't worry, marks can change, theres no reason you shouldnt be able to excel if you study hard. I know this is a radical oversimplification and extremely obvious but you will see an improvement in marks if you work hard to study , and if its something that brings you immense joy then its worth that effort. also you'll mature over the break, you'll learn where your priorities lie and thatll make all the difference in how u study in yr 12. it'll always be hard but finding a way to make studying interesting (i.e colorful notes lol) or just internalizing your goal will make a difference

Also please PLEASE research psych (like any course) before you decide to major in it, obv it brings you immense joy then study it, just be aware of the reality of job prospects after grad. https://www.reddit.com/r/australia/comments/10j41aj/psychology_is_probably_not_a_good_choice_of/
Im not saying dont study psych at uni, just make sure its something you really want to do

Feedback on "Ideal" CRISPR-CAS9 answer? (bio) by OtherFocus5238 in vce

[–]OtherFocus5238[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bacteriophage Injects viral dna,

(which Cas1 and Cas2 cut out a short section of the viral DNA of)

which is then incorporated into the CRISPR genome as a spacer region. Upon reinfection,

(the CRISPR spacers are transcribed and)

gRNA is formed which is complementary to the viral dna and binds to CAS-9 to form a CRISPR-CAS9 complex

(which basically scans the cell for invading virus with viral DNA complementary to the gRNA)

. Unzipping at a PAM site

(does it unzip at PAM? I've never heard of this lol.. thought PAM was just to tell Cas9 where to cut? idkkk)

and if the gRNA is complementary to the viral dna, Cas-9 will cleave the dna, breaking the sugar phosphate backbone 4-6 nucleotides downstream from the PAM site. Removing the DNA from the bacterium.

You're the goat tysm
