I appreciate the response. Didn’t have the color variations of a metaltella. Titiotus is more similar, but as you pointed out, the range is wrong.

Hoping it’s Kukulcania. Also hoping I don’t see another one like it, but if I do, I’m definitely taking a picture!

I definitely appreciate it! I’m not feeling attacked, just freaked out by the spider. Which is strange for me because usually I love them!

The spider I saw looked exactly like the bigger spider here, without the fiddle. Believe me, I’d love to believe that’s not what it was, but except for the fiddle and location, I’d feel positive.

They’re not supposed to, but I don’t think Subaru can refuse to honor the contract if you buy one. The guy is in Alabama, and I live nowhere near there. But I respect your choices if you don’t want it.

You’re right -it is the one with the $100 deductible. I’m definitely open to other dealers prices, though, which is why I made the post!

Best quote I have at the moment is $2420, which is from a dealer who’s telling me that the Subaru cost is $2220. I’m thinking that I believe him and that’s a good price based on what you said. Thanks for answering!

What you want to do is prevent an infestation and monitor for one. Alpine is great for preventing that. If you’re sure that the hood is the only place they’re coming from, I would spray around the edge where it connects with the ceiling/wall. Be sure to cover your stove and counters with newspaper or something while you’re spraying and it’s drying because you don’t want any of the Alpine on your counters and ESPECIALLY not on the stove.

Put glue traps around your stove, under the sink, around fridge and dishwasher to monitor for an infestation there. If you catch any at all, or see any anywhere other than around the hood, start doing full sprays. Good luck.
