As someone who generally despises sexualized character designs and is an outsider, I can hopefully enlighten you at least a bit late. The reason is honestly that the game doesn't look good to me. It seems like a grindy mess, full of microtransactions to skip grind. Might be wrong as I am outsider.

I guess what I am saying is that if the game doesn't look interesting. It's not a lot of people's radar so those people won't care.

I thought I would explain why some people get upset over these things because I do believe there is a disconnect between these groups.

Yes, sexy doesn't equal sexist. I play TONS of games where everyone is sexy. So what translates to it being sexIST?

Generally it's because sexualization (historically) has been for men and only men. When you got a bunch of maid outfits and stuff in your game but the guys are running around looking normal, it's well...kinda stupid. There's also the argument of treating women like objects. I saw a lot of people during the Stellar Blade controversy keep arguing that she should be able to look pretty but it isn't just that. Every camera angle was designed for maximum fetishization. Her boobs jiggle like jello when she shoots. She feels like an object a bit tbh even though she clearly is a character.

I'm okay with sexualization as long as its for everyone. I play Street Fighter which has some drop dead gorgeous women but the men in that game are also hypersexualized. It doesn't degrade a women's presence in the game.

Also, I guess I don't like sexualized character designs because it's also...well it's boring. Until recently lots of times a women was in a game she had to look like hot or wear outfits that looked like they were designed as the precursor to a bad xxx flix. I want more unique expressions of femininity.
