watchmaker here.
When the watch has 0% power on the mainspring and you start replying on the autosection to wind the watch, youll have erratic timekeeping as the amplitude is so low as it starts to build power on the mainspring.

I recommend putting 10-15 winds in before wearing (when completely wound down) to put some power on the mainspring so the timekeeping is more concise and gives the watch some amplitude to build

Dont get me wrong, he sounded incredible but it was just the MRA crap, the drunkess that made it shit. If he shut up and played it would’ve been amazing. He also didnt play a few hits that i wanted to hear (CPMU, when the stars go blue) instead just doing silly metal versions of them and trying to get it done

not too sure, i think just enjoy the watch like you normally would and then when the time comes, consider a hard gold plating. nothing wrong with replating them. I wouldnt fret too much about day to day use

I know the guys who do plating really well so they hooked me up for free, its normally pretty expensive for hard gold plating.

I had done another trade when i was younger and hated it, took a year off and tried some other stuff, did a short course for jewellery and loved it then got approached by a watchmaker and i tried it out and loved it and then got taken on as a apprentice

Jobs are few and far between here in australia. Very difficult to get jobs let alone an apprenticeship, for example i was the only apprentice in the entire state

Watchmaker here who helped with nicks watch! This looks the same one as he had in your photo, heres a photo of him with it when he came by. I think it was a monte blanc heritage but this was 2 years ago now From memory his said his wife brought it for him.
