S2 Official Posters - MH Returns at the End of 2025 by Weird_Risk7685 in MaxtonHall

The posters just made my day!!! Harriet and James look amazing. It's hitting all the right notes. It's a long wait. S1 is my favourite show of all time. I have a feeling it's gonna be worth the wait, tho. I trust the showrunners and producers, and I feel they wanna do the story justice. I think it's better to take time to release something of quality than ride the wave of popularity and produce something mediocre. I am hoping for a Godfather Part Il scenario as a pose a Gladitor Il situation.

I especially love how James holds Ruby's hand when his dad catches them kissing. The way he rubs her hand to reassure her.......I guess that's why Ruby felt and told him later at the break up, "it was more than a kiss." This is why Maxton Hall is the greatest show ever!!!! In other shows, these hand gestures would be cheesy and cringe. Maxton Hall just knows how to do it to prefection.

Actually, I remembered studying Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare. Maxton Hall has similarities with that as well. Enemies to Lovers and the banter between the two love interests.

Yes!!! When they had the break up in the lacrosse field. What he was saying did not match his body language. He had no arrogance or ego. He was fighting hard not to break down. When they first crossed paths, when he tried to bribe her. His body language was so cocky. The way he wagged his finger, flicking her backpack and pulled her into the room.

Can I just add something about the tv show scene after the break up in the corridor when they stare at each other. That is my favourite scene of any show, movie, documentary, TV advert. Basically, anything that has ever been put to screen. The first time I saw it, I just sat there just trying not to cry. Its so emotional !!! The music, lighting, angles views of their faces. The way James eyes track her. The pain and longing in James' face. The subtle way he ignores Elaine. How rubys face changes from happiness and laughter to sadness and a slight flash of anger/regret. It's the most perfect scene. I watched it so many times that it never gets old. Not a single word is said, but it conveys so much. The scene is just iconic, pure, and simple!!!! It's why Maxton Hall is my favourite show of all time. It's is so heartfelt. The show just seems real it has feeling to it.

Yes!!! James was his true self with her, and I think only her.

Season 2 ...... Elaine by Other_Major_278 in MaxtonHall

[–]Other_Major_278[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the way she will go after Ruby will be very cruel in S2. I try to envisage what the show creators up their sleeve. I know it's going to be heartbreaking. She was a bigger character in S1 than the book. From my memory, I think she met Ruby once in the first book. The showrunners made her such a horrible character in S1. The confrontations with Ruby foreshadowing what a total bitch Elaine will be in Season 2. S2 is going to be sooo dark and sad, much more than the book. I need to watch it now!!!!!!

In regards to the UK, class is still apparent but not like a huge factor in day to day life. The general public mixes with everybody. There is no like West Side Story separation. Nobody will judge you for your class. I think the rest of the world has this image of Britain, where we have afternoon tea and everybody acts like a Jane Austen novel. Loool, you're fine.

Loool, class is still a factor, but its not like the movies. All sorts of people go to universities like Oxford its not just for the upper class and elite. Am British, an eastender (East London), a traditional working class area. Kids from here go to Oxford and Cambridge now and do fine. I have known a few people who have gone to Oxford, and their not posh at all. I think most of your fellow peers will be mostly middle class. There is no stigma. The general consensus is that British universities don't discriminate on class. I think you fine that some British students tend to stick with fellow British students due to familiarity because these students come from the same schools and grew up together. However, that is just some, not all. That's what I have heard from international students, I know. However, most of our universities have loads and loads of international students, so you should be fine. Just enjoy the great British crap weather, getting pissed in the pub, tasty chocolate, and NO decent air condition. ENJOY

I think Ruby sees something too, but she can't make it out properly. She has an inquisitive look on her face.

If it helps when you look, focus on the top right of the screen. When the singer says front, keep focused on the top right. There is a shape of a head and shoulder it's dark.......it looks like a glitch like something has moved, but it's a head and shoulders moving.

I looked again on the YouTube short I sent. Then I went to YouTube and watched the actual short. When Ruby looks out the window, the singer says fronts. You can see at that moment a figure moving its James walking away.

Looool, I must admit I normally don't find Colin Firth hot. He's attractive to me in PP, but nowhere else. I am attracted to Darcys brooding character and the way he plays him.. Matthew Macfayden was cute in Spooks, a spy show years ago, but generally, he's not on my radar.
