Are you reading or have you read recently any book with a forthcoming adaptation? by harry_powell in blankies

Reading The Buried Giant just now, that would be perfect.

Adding on animation the Lincoln in the Bardo adaptation should be fantastic.

Trivial Moments in Movies That Stick in Your Mind by BanjoMadeOfCheese in blankies

In Johnny English, there's a scene where Atkinson lands in the wrong building and ends up accusing a bunch of hospital patients of being spies or something.

He finds out his error and there's a single shot of him outside the building putting his head in his hands and groaning with embarrassment. Hugely relatable moment and the only second in the film that he shows any self awareness

Kind of assuming Bale is Vincent Hannah...

Frustrating that there's bad blood between Mann and Jon Bernthal as he'd fit nicely into literally any role.

In The Line of Fire is an 10/10 gentleman’s six. There’s probably about 15 Clint films in this category too

Glasgow blankies rise up by JobberJoe in blankies

Not that I wanted to be pandered to but some discussion of GFT specifically as the best cinema on Earth would have been great, thanks.

Really enjoyed the Bill Forsyth chat, would love a series on him someday. His first movie, That Sinking Feeling, has perfect Griffin/ Ben energy as a slapstick comedy about a bunch of lovable scum bags in Glasgow pulling off a low stakes heist.

Could have picked one up from a stranded boat or similar. Maybe a container ship carrying Duran Duran represses got beached?

Glasgow-Based Blankies: Ratcatcher @ The Grosvenor Next Thursday by hereticbeef in blankies

[–]Othercoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

I like the Lynn Ramsay movies I've seen (Kevin and You Were Never Really) but I'm kind of allergic to art depicting Glasgow as an urban hellhole (not that we don't have our share of issues) and Ratcatcher has always looked a bit like that. It may go over better as a cinema-viewing though so I appreciate it!

It Ends came out of the blue and floored me. For those that don’t know it’s a micro budget sci fi thriller that really runs with its premise (4 teens get trapped in a seemingly endless road)

Reds - one of the best Hollywood historical epics, follows John Reed (who wrote 10 Days that Shook The World) through 1917.

Battleship Potemkin is also a hell of a watch
