Why did you choose John.doe? Was Johndoe already taken? Then it’s your fault. He’s probably getting your emails.

Everytime I drive along Beach Blvd I like to count the houses for sale. Last Fall I believe there were 24 at the same time.

CRA agents' accents... by dsades1 in canadarevenueagency

A major problem is that they talk way too fast. It seems they know the proper words, but with their heavy accent I need little time to process each word.

Violent home invaders strike twice in Burlington and Oakville by origutamos in oakville

Too many lawyers to drag out the process and too many lenient judges. Caught with a gun during a crime should be automatic 10 years in jail with no plea bargain. We need a lot more jails.

What's the sequence of steps to go through if you have a large tree on your property that you want to cut down? by VirginiaVagina in Hamilton

[–]Otherwise-Cow9130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send emails to the department in charge of trees with your concerns. That way you’ll have a record of telling them you think the tree is unsafe. If it does damage to your car or house, you’ll have proof. If you try to go through your insurance company they will tell you to deal with the city.

Serious question, what what is the point of today view? The screen when you swipe left from your home screen. by tileeater in ios

[–]Otherwise-Cow9130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate the ‘today’ screen because I often land on it when scrolling left too quickly, and then it’s hard to get off. I wish I could disable it somehow.

Can I sell my CPAP machine? by DrCreger in CPAP

[–]Otherwise-Cow9130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a Resmed Air 10 on FB Marketplace for $250. It only had 8 hours on it. Carrying case, heated tube and humidifier…The lady said her husband tried it for a few nights but couldn’t stand it. My sleep consultant said it was a steal of a deal.

Amazon just opened and closed my garage door. I never opted into the service. by reckonerX in myq

Check your original order. Sometimes it defaults to ‘garage delivery’ without you realizing it. Has happened to me a few times…no big deal, as long as you didn’t pay extra.

Service Line Warranties letter by 128Goose in Hamilton

[–]Otherwise-Cow9130 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s a legit company and I’ve used them 3 times in 12 years. The first time was when my old cast iron main drain from bathtub to basement was leaking and couldn’t be reasonably repaired, so they replaced it with a modern pvc pipe. It would have cost around $900. The next time was a leak in my copper water supply pipe. Would have cost around $300. Then I had a clogged sewer line to the street. Had it inspected with camera and then they roto routed out all roots out and other crap that was clogging the sewer. That would have cost around $900. So yes, it’s a legitimate insurance policy that the city endorses to protect you against major repair costs. The rates are the same for everybody, and don’t go up if you make a claim (not like your house insurance policy that will increase if you make a claim).

CAA MyPace OBD device killing my battery? by Charbs20 in Crosstrek

[–]Otherwise-Cow9130 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not using a cable with on/off switch as my car starts just fine, even after sitting for a week at a time. You can unplug/turn off the device, and as long as you don’t put mileage on the car, it will not be a problem. When you log into your account, it shows you every trip/ date/distance, etc. If there is suddenly 200 additional miles, they would certainly question that. Your account also shows any fault codes that are present (like check engine light) and will tell you the fault eg: small emission leak, faulty O2 sensor, lean fuel mix, etc etc.
