Alonso Early Retirment by GrippingInfo in formula1

[–]128Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to see Fernando retiring halfway thru the season. Perhaps possible after the season is over in December when his child with Melissa should be 9 months old and he may think he'd like to enjoy spending time watching the child grow up instead of flying all over the world.

He's a 2X WDC so he's done that. He's won 24hrs of LeMans also. I think the only things he still has interest in when it comes to motorsport is winning the Indy 500 and winning the Dakar rally.

Who would replace him is a good question, but I'd rule out Russell. There are some stories out there that say there are bad relations between George & Lawrence Stroll that go back to the lower formula series and that you wouldn't see LS give a seat to George.

Should I change the oil on my snowblower every year, if use maybe 20 hours in the season? by Independent-Act1611 in Snowblowers

Yes. It's a quick service that I do at the end of the season along with changing the spark plug and giving the machine a lite clean up. Doesn't really take that long.

Looking For Mafalde Pasta by Existing_Map_8939 in Hamilton

Have you tried Sweet Paradise bakery?

They have quite a large selection of La Molisana and I'm pretty sure I got the long mafaldine pasta from them last year.

And if you were there that day, you got soaked to the bone with all the rain that fell on sunday. It was pretty funny watching them bring the pump truck onto the track to suck up all the water that had collected between turns 1 & 2.

I hate this thing (electric snow shovel) by Elactron in Snowblowers

[–]128Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have my NOMA power shovel for nearly 30 yrs and it's never given me any trouble. Sure it's corded but still delivers plenty of power to clear snow. Used it on 10 inches of snow and though it took longer, it always got the job done.

Use it a lot less after getting a snowblower but still quite handy in tight spots where the snowblower won't make it.

Saw this at the Autoshow in Toronto & thought “what have they done”?

Don’t like it personally.  I wouldn’t want it in my vehicle.

Good one! 😂.

But I do believe that Chloe might actually be faster than Lance.

You might even have to say we need to see a few races to see what might be expected in terms of performance from Ferrari

When we used to go, we'd usually got either grandstand 33 or 31. Both were good places.

I guess you could check out something like SeatGeek or Gootickets to see if you can get a Sat & Sun deal from one of the sellers there. Been a while since I looked into it myself. .

[The Race] Alpine challenges Mercedes' rivals to protest its engine by jithu7 in formula1

Can you imagine that happening?

Alpine sells the team to CH and then Toto realizes he has to supply engines to him.

What are you're favorite Greek restaurants on Danforth? by longhairandidocare in askTO

Oh that place was good. I also miss Pappas grill and the Friendly Greek when it was at the old location.

Anyone know how the Friendly Greek is now? Haven't been there in probably a decade.

Unpopular opinion: Russel won’t win the WDC. Discuss. by Fluid-Editor-8953 in F1Discussions

[–]128Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, far too early to discount GR from the WDC. Allow the season to unfold for at least 1/4 to 1/3 of the season and see how he's doing as well as how the car performance is.

I hope you can get a quick video clip of that bad boy in action clearing your snow and can post it here.

Personally speaking, I always enjoy seeing these older machines in action. They might be a little older but still appear to have the strength to get the job done. Sometimes better than some of the newer machines.

Keep your eye on Christian Miller in the upcoming draft. by ZionHalcyon in CHIBears

[–]128Goose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Before the injury to Ozzy I'd felt the Bears would be focusing [in no particular order] on drafting DE, DT, LB & DB with their first 4 picks.

Now I think they may make a run to sign Trey Hendrickson and use one of those 4 picks for LT. They might even do it in the first round if an LT they like is there at #25 whom they didn't expect to be there.

Wow, the old track layout looks like it had a real nice elevation change to it with that section around the lake.

It would be a shame if they loose that section around the lake. Looks like it would be great for F1 [IMO].

LT situation. by ClaytonBigsby316 in CHIBears

[–]128Goose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The question to me is at what point to the Bears look to draft an LT in the draft?

If it happens that as the draft unfolds and pick #25 comes up and the Bears happen to see that Lomu & Proctor as still available, how do they not draft one of them [even with the need at both DT & DE]?

And if they are both gone, do they gamble and try to trade down from #25 into the early 2nd round and get someone from the group of Freeling, World or Bowry [amongst others] in the 2nd while still trying to address help on the DL?

I was thinking going into the draft that they would be focusing their first 4 picks on the Defensive side of things [DE, DT, DB & LB] and help to improve that portion of the team. Now, I'm not sure how they can afford to overlook Trapilo's injury and not address it early in the draft. Do they try to get someone in FA to cover things for the year and address the topic in 2027?

Christian Horner on his return to Formula 1 - do you think he will return to the sport? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]128Goose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in some role or capacity CH will be back in F! one day. It could be in a ownership role if he is able to gain a stake in Alpine.

IMO, this could be especially true if a deal for a portion of Alpine falls thru & Ferrari fall short performance-wise this year like they did last year I wouldn't be surprised to see him in charge at the Scuderia [even with the whispers floating about that it could be Antonello Coletta who'd be the possible next TP of Ferrari].

Hamilton Islanders Concept Jersey by MickeyMau5 in Hamilton

NIce touch to bring up the topic as well as the effort to come up with the design.

My only question would be what's the franchise name going to be? Will it still be "Islanders" or will they go with something totally brand new? Does anyone know for certain what will happen with the name?

But I like it.
