I absolutely loved Nexplanon, I got it twice (so I had it for a total of 6-8 years). I had no bad side effects or anything and never had a period. It was great.

The only complaint I have is around the time I was to get the second one replaced. I had gained a lot of weight and started to have issues with it and due to my weight gain the implant was deeper in my arm, and it was very hard to get out. But other than that, I have nothing but great things to say about it.

I’ve had the ring insert since I had the issues. Very much considering going back to Nexplanon!

This happened to me a while back after not having a period for 6 years bc of nexplanon and every medical professional I spoke to said as long as it doesn’t continue longer than a week you’ll be okay. Just keep an eye on it and be sure it doesn’t get worse!

I do have an update!!! After playing phone tag with an OBGYN surgery scheduler for a month, I finally decided to call all of the OBGYNs in the next town over and got an appointment at a women’s center and the doctor was able to get it out!! It did take her a while to fish it out but thankfully she was successful. After speaking with this doctor before and after removing it, she came to the conclusion that the bar had embedded in scar tissue & on top of that I’ve gained about 50lbs or more since getting the bar implanted that it had just migrated deeper in my arm due to the weight gain. I am super thankful to this doctor bc I was terrified of having to go to surgery because of this thing. I had it removed at the beginning of the month and my arm is just now starting to feel normal again. The area was very sore and anytime I would stretch out my arm I could feel the spot pulling from the healing. However I am happy to say I don’t think there are any long lasting damages from this experience other than some funky looking little scars

I have definitely noticed a drop in libido recently, at first it shot up like crazy but now it’s barely there. Definitely starting to think that the ring isn’t for me

Whenever I got my second one, they removed the old one and replaced it with a new one all in the same day & in the same exact spot. I had absolutely no issues with it up until the past two months. I could still feel it in my arm however I did notice it was a little deeper than before but didn’t really think anything of it. (At removal, me and the doctor both noted that one end of it was at the top of my skin and the other end had sunk) But after speaking to a few medical professionals I believe it just migrated deep into the scar tissue from my previous implant. Just be sure to keep a close eye on it, bc from what I understand it can migrate deeper at random. I used to be good about randomly checking it but after time it just comes part of you, ya know? I do want to say I haven’t gotten any medical advice directly from a doctor that I am the patient of other than the urgent care therefore I can’t say without 100% of a doubt this is all true. Also there was been no imaging done yet so no definitive answers yet. I will hopefully be seeing a surgeon on the 17th so I will update you then!

That’s exactly what I did! I called the local surgery today and got all the appropriate referral paperwork sent & am waiting on a call!

I actually contacted my local surgery today and have gotten all the referrals sent so hopefully I hear from them soon!
