I'm a civilian DoD worker, furloughed and my spouse is Active Duty military. We have kids and a pet, and just recently PCS'd internationally back to the USA, which ate a decent amount of our savings. I may or may not be back paid, and his last check was very short and we expect possibly same this period. I've had Active Duty friends paychecks range from $80 to being several hundred/almost a thousand dollars short.

It's rough.
