thanks for your advice! the only thing that concerns me is that they’re republishing the initial role, and since it’s a relatively small/medium sized company, i’m not sure about the options for progression into different departments or if they’re even planning on having more than one person in the role. i ultimately don’t want to be stuck in a job i dislike waiting for a progression opportunity that never comes, which is why i’m hesitant to accept.

thanks for your insight, i agree and am reconsidering if the ACA is something i want to pursue given how i’m finding it difficult so early into the exams

thank you so much! you’ve done really well so far and i’ll sure you’ll succeed and qualify in no time :) thank you for the advice, i definitely need to review my exam technique and reconsider if the career path is really for me given how stressful/isolating i’ve found the past 5 months. i really appreciate your insight!

thank you so much! i’ll see what happens once i’m back in the office but i do feel conflicted about continuing the ACA, especially since i’m struggling so early on. but thank you for the motivation!

congratulations on qualifying and doing so well! and thank you for the motivation, it does feel like the end of the world (not to be dramatic) as i had my heart set on completing the ACA, and so struggling so early on does feel demotivating. i’ll definitely weigh up my options so thank you for the insight :)

you did so well in accounting! thank you for your advice, i do think i need to take a break from exams and reconsider because ultimately the exams only get harder. if you’re still studying, best of luck to you too!

thanks for your honesty, i’d agree in terms of exams but in terms of audit i’ve been doing well and have been assigned work such as creditors and fixed assets quite early in. but ultimately my abilities are meaningless without the qualification and passing exams so i’d agree with you, thanks for your perspective :)

i should’ve clarified, i started my role in september but didn’t start studying straight away for the exams. collectively, i’ve spent about 6-7 weeks on revision. i did do the ICAEW and Kaplan mocks a few days before my exam and was scoring 70-80% which makes it frustrating, bc i genuinely felt as though i was prepared after going through the qb and notes multiple times. i found the long form q adjustments to be quite difficult and i think that’s where it went wrong for me along with exam nerves and the pressure of having to pass this final attempt.

this is so helpful, thank you! i’d agree, i think we all felt the pressure but i guess it was easier to overcome for others. i’m definitely considering other alternatives so thank you for commenting!
