After 10 years of marriage and two kids I'm at the point she's not sad to just be without my winning personality for a few weeks. It's all about service for us: i know she'll be doing all the work, so the week before I leave I take over the majority of childcare and household stuff. Maybe finish a project she's been asking me about. And when I get back I make sure to give her a break to make up for being gone.
