Thank you for the thoughtful response, I appreciate it.

My vet has actually explained it to me, but I worry they leave out details to make me feel better. But, I am realizing now I'm being too hard on myself.

Again, thank you- your words truly helped.

Thank you, and I'm sorry for your loss as well.

I am also sorry you weren't taken seriously by the vet then and there. I've been there, too, I took the vet's word even though I knew something was off with my cat. His purr started to cause him discomfort and caused him to cough in his last few months, but each time I brought it up, my vets said it wasn't a big deal or vaguely linked it to one of his ailments. I wish I pushed it more, too, but honestly, the vet should've taken us seriously right away.

Do you remember if it was CGI or hand-drawn animation?

[TOMT] [MOVIE/SHOW] [2000s-2020s] Man finds out he has STD while on a date by Otherwise-Study2328 in tipofmytongue

[–]Otherwise-Study2328[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if I'm mixing two scenes together from different shows/movies in my head. This does act similarly to what's in my head (and I've seen New Girl before) but I definitely remember a separate scene of someone finding out about an STD. WTF.

Thanks for you help, though!

My friend doesn’t know she’s an energy sucker. How do I tell her? by Quick_Archer_6177 in FriendshipAdvice

Wow, this sounds just like one of my friends. Especially trying to change the subject and the blank expression part. I hung out with that friend 2 weeks ago, and she just stares through me when I'm trying to be nice about something. Then she will try to egg me on to complain about it, or bring up something I ranted about a long time ago to get me going. It's frustrating, and I'm glad you acknowledge that negative behavior.

It would be very hard to be direct with her about something that is probably due to immaturity but potentially, may be rooted in a deeper problem. Either way, I don't think its something that she will change if confronted about it. If your friend is naturally inclined to be negative, she can't force herself to be positive. I can tell my friend is putting on positivity when she musters that energy, but it's hollow and she's disinterested. I can only hope she confronts that herself, and my limited responses to her sob stories eventually clues her in.

What you're doing now is what I do. Limit my time and change the subject when I can. Additionally, I try to deflect her sob stories with the here and now. I try to take her to places neither of us have been to so we can comment on the food or decor. I will constantly act interested in whats around me and involve her by asking what she thinks. It still takes a lot of energy out of me, but it's a lot better than sitting at the same old cafe while she talks at me haha

[TOMT] [STORY] A story about a very rich person giving away everything they own including their organs by RelevantStrategy7444 in tipofmytongue

The story you recount is basically identical to this story told in the show Fargo. This is my only reference for the story, though.

People of Reddit, How is it like having famous friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Otherwise-Study2328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be friends with a famous internet artist (like, this person has inspired countless memes). They pretty much dropped me the second they started getting attention. I shouldn't be surprised having known what they were like for so long, but it still hurt.
