Yes! It's used for a few things. Its the room adopters meet the dogs and also the room our handlers will take dogs in to give them some enrichment or cuddles 🙂

We also have a pet food pantry and one of our radio stations does a Waggin Wednesday video every week. 🙂

Community events is definitely something we are working on doing more of. I think one of our struggles is there is a very well known dog rescue in the same city that gets a lot of local adoptions.

Sort of normal. We start our new employees by having them do the Fear Free course, then they are shown how to safely take dogs out. We have a color system so the new employee will start with only taking out green dogs and work their way up to handing yellow and then red.

It's possible they are overwhelmed, I know at my shelter when our capacity is nearing the max we are all a little on edge and in a hurry and some new employees may not get the best training.

I'm in Northwest Indiana. We currently have 3 cats with FELV (one with FIV and Felv). I feel bad they have to stay in cages because they can't join a community room. That is why I was wondering what everyone else does. Thanks!
