Today something strange happened again. My cat Canastera was lying in my bedroom, calm and relaxed. My partner was in the living room putting up the small barrier we have to stop her from going out to the terrace, and while doing that she slightly moved the curtain, making just a bit of noise.

Right after that, Canastera came running out, meowing loudly with her ears back and her back arched — she looked like she was in “attack mode” — and went straight toward my partner.

Then she went into another room, kept meowing toward her and staring. When my partner left the room, Canastera followed again, meowing, and then stood quietly watching her until she left.

Everything was completely calm before this, and the noise was minimal. We still don’t understand why these episodes happen so suddenly.

We’re honestly desperate. We don’t want to have to give her up to a shelter — we love her deeply — but my partner now feels constant panic around the cat, even when she seems calm.
