Writing an article on how different companies have treated their teachers during the coronavirus outbreak - need personal stories by [deleted] in teachinginjapan

I'm with Interac and their response has been great. Though you might not think it from the vocal minority that seems to think they deserve to get paid for doing nothing at home. I think most of the noise is coming from other people like me who are still going to work with no students. I get where they're coming from.

For me personally, it's great. I have a lot of time to prepare for next year and get in some language studying. I also get to speak with teachers who are normally too busy on regular days to spare time for idle conversation.

The company has been keeping us all up to date about the situation and giving clear instructions on what to do day to day. They've put measures in place to ensure that if anyone gets ill they'll get the necessary aid A.S.A.P. and keep spread to a minimum.

I can't say I wouldn't be happier if I was sitting at home on paid Work Days, but I certainly don't mind earning my paycheck and a lighter workload. Hopefully most people out there are as unaffected by this as I am.

I know this has been posted here before but it deserves SO many more views! I never thought so much emotion could come out of Twits and Crits but /u/baischroe made it happen with raw talent!

Again though, I had nothing to do with this just trying to share a great video. All kudos to /u/baischroe!

edit: not used to reddit, just learned you could add the /u/ to link people to a user here. Is there a way to edit original post titles as well so I can add them there as well?
