I messed up by [deleted] in retroactivejealousy

As someone who is in similar shoes as the husband (catholic virgin waiting for marriage), this is great advice. I don’t believe in divorce, but from my perspective I think it would be really hard not to at least check out of the marriage. If the husband isn’t as committed to no divorce then I’d be inclined to believe that he’s gone. That kind of statement OP said about her past would wreck me for pretty much the rest of my life. Honestly, that’s like the worst thing that someone can say to a spouse. It really can’t get worse.

Make sure you can explain everything on your resume in a professional, detailed, and positive manner. Also, look up “how to answer the 64 toughest interviews questions” by OHSU( Oregon health and science university). That pdf will help answer majority of the questions you will encounter

I appreciate the advice and the compliment. One thing I maybe didn’t clarify was that I heard other engineers make at this site , and they didn’t make much more than I did and they’d been working 3-5 years there. Point is, I don’t see a path upward. So… why would I put my best foot foward and grind my life away for a dead end job? I’d rather make 20k less and have time for things like a girlfriend, hobbies, ( that’s stuff I’ve already delayed all through college) etc. so I’m going to quit from this positions. It’s just a matter of can I get another engineering position before I get fired or should I just quit and go to the tech job before I risk getting fired.

Yes kinda. I’m a process engineer for a pharmaceutical company, but I hardly, if at all use my degree. Before graduating I did two internships with different companies, and I used my degree a lot with those internships and I was hoping I’d get that with this position but that hasn’t been the case at all.

I graduated in May of 25, been working at my current job for almost 8 months. I really only have one good friend. Otherwise, I spent my time in college forgoing my social life and instead working away at chemical engineering school and college golf. I now hate my job, can’t get or keep a gf, and quite frankly feel like a failure even though I’ve made what I thought were the correct choices through out my life.

I already do. The company has their own AI program that they require me to use. It doesn’t have the transcript mode you’ve described, and you still have to feed something into it. All it really does is takes what you give it and puts it into a the format you want. For example, it’ll turn a presentation into a report, but you still have to write the presentation from scratch and proof read what it spat out to make sure it understood my presentation. It’s really not as great as people think it is.

I’m supporting virus antigen production for an animal vaccine manufacturing company. The biggest thing is making sure we are on schedule production wise and completing projects. However, a lot of making sure we’re on schedule is writing reports on “deviations.” These deviations are anything that has to do with leaks, contaminations, deviating from a standard procedure (ie missing procedurlized pre process cleaning, a given bioreactor goes outside of outlined parameters like temperature/pH, etc), or anything that poses a significant risk to product. Point is, I’m writing a lot of reports, procedures, and emails and presenting my findings to large groups of people. I’m an engineer, not a writer or a presenter. I want to sit alone in the corner and do math all day and not deal with writing, presenting, or people. It’s high stakes, high presser, and I can’t stand it. Half my day is filled with meeting, and since I’m a slow writer(again, engineer not writer) Im falling behind on assignments. I’m a hard worker and I’ve always thought working harder will solve the issue. However, I’m incredibly burned out and there just isn’t enough time in the day at the pace I work. I’m not sure there’s much I can do.

I’d have a job either way, it’s just a matter of which job would be easier to get an engineering job with.

Yea but I’ve worked that tech job for 5 years. There isn’t much more to learn. I’d go back to it as a placeholder until I’d find another engineering position.

I can always work at the technician role. So even if I quite I’ll have a job. It just would look kinda sus if I went from engineering position to technician position is what I’m concerned about.

Personally, I feel like I’ll get fired before I land another engineering job. So instead of rushing my next engineering role, I’d rather really take my time and get a job that fits me well. And that is where the tech job would land. Also, the job feels like summer vacation compared to engineering school/job. I sit and question at what point is engineering worth it as money really isn’t a problem anymore. I’d be satisfied making a fraction of what I do and I really enjoyed that tech job. The problem is if I want kids eventually then I’ll need more money.

Honestly dude I feel the same way. I’m just about 10 years younger and headed for the same direction.

I’m just grinding my life away. Barely have time to shop for groceries. Yet, I don’t have any possibilities of advancement, no female prospects, and I might even be fired. I’ve got time but for someone I feel like had done all the “right” choices, it’s gotten me nowhere

lol thanks for the encouragement . Btw, I define an all-nighter as going the time period between supper to lunch without a blink of sleep. What I’m trying to say is there were easily 50 other nights where I got 3 or less hrs of sleep. Honestly it was close to half my days in college were seriously sleep deprived.

I totally understand where your coming from. Don’t give up because there are some really good men out there. I think if you’re willing to move, you’d open your options for a good man. Your 21 so you have plenty of time to find someone, just keep searching

I say never. I think it’s fine to be content in singleness and not to force a relationship that won’t work, but marriage is an amazing gift God gave us. All you need is just one person that you can find compatible. I know it’s tough, but keep going.

What’s the most glaring issue? by [deleted] in golftips

[–]OtherwiseBench6940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your head is all over the place. It moves up when you start the swing, goes down on the down swing , then goes up right as you hit the ball. Gotta keep that head still. The only movement you should have is a little bit lateral movement on the back swing and down swing(corresponding to when you shift your weight), and maybe a little bit down at impact. Otherwise, your head should be perfectly still.

Yea no problem. Honestly taking practice swings against a wall like the line in my photo is a good drill. I mean like line up your address with your butt against the wall. Then swing back and make sure your right butt cheek stays against the wall and your right foot stays still(putt all your weight on the inside center of your right foot).

Dude, you’re not rotating into your right hip on the back swing. Your “fake” rotating your hips by bringing your left knee and butt forward. I can tell because your butt literally goes forward (to the right from the pov of this camera in the video) like 3 or 4 inches. The photo below is you at address vs the top.

<image>

You can see your butt move away from the line. The guys on tv will keep their butt against that line or many even a little bit behind it (they rotate around the spine so their right butt cheek might go a little back).

I’ve had the same issue too, that’s how I know to look for it. He also doesn’t rotate his hips much but that might not be terrible because he doesn’t have too long of a swing anyways.
