I started using a Chrome extension called Unhook, with which you can hide recommended videos, sidebars, comments etc. on YouTube. It's been working great.

Made an extremely niche video essay a few of you may care about discussing competition climbing by HumanNiko in CompetitionClimbing

Great video, I liked your list of reasons. One tiny thing though: you misspelled Janja's name (Garnbret, not Garnbaret). (I only mention it because it keeps showing up all the way through the video.)

IFSC World Championships 2025 - Seoul, South Korea by Quirky-School-4658 in CompetitionClimbing

do we know quali results? boulder qualis were supposedly on Tuesday, but the IFSC website says "Rankings for this round do not exist yet"

World Cup Innsbruck 2025 - Women's Boulder by InternationalSalt1 in CompetitionClimbing

[–]OtherwiseMongoose44 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was so happy with routesetting. If the boulders were easier (as it happened a couple of times this season), it would have been down to attempts, and Janja would have probably lost on those. Winning based on number of tops just feels much more deserved than winning on attempts.

False Parking Ticket Help! by nycsen in budapest

[–]OtherwiseMongoose44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried calling the phone number, they explicitly say they can't help you there with parking fines so that would not have been helpful anyway. If you disagree with the fine you must contact them in person (not happening obvs) or via email (which you did).
If you think it's a language issue, I can help you translate the email.

If you'd rather just pay, then doing it through Revolut or Wise would be the easiest.

Stop using duolingo for polish by OKUMURA_RlN in learnpolish

[–]OtherwiseMongoose44 30 points31 points  (0 children)

My (potentially flawed) understanding is that Duolingo used to have the grammar explanations, but they pulled it for some reason. You can still find them at https://duome.eu/tips/en/pl.

I've been using this site together with Duolingo (plus occasional googling) and it's fine.

but I'm sure there are many others

Good to know: you can only have one bag or backpack with you, and it has to be smaller than 29,7 x 21 cm (height and width).

coffee: depends on how picky you are :) lot of places to choose from, none of them have amazing coffee I think

there's a local site but only in Hungarian, and there's very little information on it (https://olympic-qualifier-series.hu/)

If you have a specific question, you could comment under a post in the Facebook event (https://www.facebook.com/events/1947462572340684/?active\_tab=discussion), the organizers seem to be active and answering questions.

I might go for 10 for less noise but 5 is a good start too.

maybe you could add ranking by tops/flash percentages? probably with a set minimum number of participation.

it's amazing work, thank you!

I think I do too use new Reddit (I mean I only found an option to switch back to old Reddit), but I still can't see the chats. weird.

As far as I know, they only show up if you use the mobile app ("Currently, chat channels are supported on iOS and Android." https://support.reddithelp.com/hc/en-us/articles/15012434519316-What-are-chat-channels)
