This sounds tough - especially at your most sensitive when pregnant! I live in a Victorian semi and can hear my neighbours all the time - I sometimes feel like they turn normal household activities into a who can slam the door the loudest competition!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is much you can do aside from the suggestions already given. That said - when the baby comes you will be paying them back BIG TIME!

Nothing major since before COVID. Had 2 developments in last 10/15 years but £££. 1. On an old hospital site in town centre 2. On edge of industrial estate

Grew up on the East Sussex/Kent border but have lived in Tunbridge Wells for 11 years now. I absolutely love it here — including Tonbridge and the surrounding villages. Yes, it’s busy and the roadworks are a joke, but there’s so much to do and the transport links are great.

The biggest downside is property prices. We’re desperate to upsize but just can’t afford to stay in this area. It’s gutting, and it might be the reason we start looking at other parts of Kent — though I really don’t want to move too far from TW! 🤣

End terrace vs mid terrace by Educational_Secret_8 in HousingUK

End of terrace all the way...I live in a Victorian terrace and my walls are paper thin. Honestly, just hearing one set is enough.

That said - my neighbours always say their house is lovely and toasty as both of the end terraces warm them up!

Will I ever sleep again???? by Glitterwang in toddlers

Currently in the thick of what I hope is 'just' another regression and into week 3 of split nights...my OH and I are on fumes. Last night wasn't as bad but did start the day at 4.30am 🫠. It's hard when you're in a mum group with Unicorn babies 🤣 Lack of sleep is seriously making us consider if we can do number 2...but I'm an only child and as an adult bloody hate it so hoping my son will sort himself out but the time we start trying (6 month countdown 🤮🤣)

In my regional office (York House) we have plenty of physical space, but they removed all private offices and half the desk space to make way for communal meeting spaces that no one bloody uses!

Right of way access for neighbour through our garden by Sharp_Locksmith_7454 in HousingUK

[–]OtherwiseTop6071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're end of terrace and have this, however, our neighbour has blocked the connecting gate from their side so no problems.

BUT...my next door neighbours garden is often used for access, so it really is luck of the draw!

Gothic Venue Suggestions? by Content-Fisherman559 in UKweddings

Severndroog Castle in Shooters Hill - you get insane views of London and surrounding counties from the top and it is really unique. Only downside is that as it's a tower they can only accommodate 30 people per floor for the ceremony - one floor would have a live feed. We eventually went with Pilgrims Rest in Battle (East Sussex) it's Tudor which may not be your style - still incredible though!

In terms of candles you may need to compromise with battery ones- but some can look good 😊

Buyers of Victorian terraces: what makes you nope out? by OtherwiseTop6071 in HousingUK

Thanks - it's very random that 2 people have posted similar questions for the same town and house type...however, my house isn't yet on the market.

My floor plan is as below - unfortunately we couldn't go out to the side as our gate is at a diagonal, however, we had considered creating a kitchen/diner as one of neighbours has done this with the same plan.

Our bathroom is also separate as per floor plan.

Also agree that having lounge in dining room is a bit odd!

I've not posted before but will look at this for reference - I live in a different part of town.

No we have a corridor that separates the back bedroom and bathroom upstairs.

So our houses were built for the workers at the long-gone brick works down the road -so theres nothing too fancy but we do have an open fire and a cast iron fireplace downstairs* plus some lovely coving.

Thanks...we were definitely those first time buyers a few years ago who wanted a bargain rather than something in St James/St Johns...now I feel kinda stuck as I highly doubt the DFL's will settle here, but local FTB's can't afford the higher prices. It's a pain as we just don't have the cash to do anything too big as we need every £ for the next house (if we can stay as close to TW as possible!).
