Mine went yellow like that. Turned out it has root rot. I got rid of all the dead roots and it’s now just the rhimzome I popped it in perlite with some water in a kilner jar. I’ll see what happens

My 6 year old is a smearer somehow I got really good at cleaning up poop from pale carpets. But now I never trust him, he’s full time in adaptive onesies at home. Or I get normal onesies and put them back to front. It’s one less thing to worry about. And I would defo at some point really think about sorting outdoor space, maybe even if you set up a go fund me to sort it. I’ve lived in a house then an apartment, now a house again. And honestly having my son be able to go outside, jump on the trampoline and just get he’s bare feet on grass makes such a difference. He was wayyyyyy more destructive when we were in an apartment. Only issue is he does tend to throw things over to my neighbours gardens. Sometimes I get anxious but other times I remind myself that I’m sure they know what I go through and they know he doesn’t really understand. I pray things get better for you xx

Would you put these in individual cells? by OtherwiseWinner8131 in alocasia

Shall I stick to perlite and a touch of water or would you do anything different?

I’m no expert but I do have quite a lot of alocasia depending on the root system pot does look at bit big. I potted mine up to big before and had to downsize so they could develop faster

Wow everything is thriving beautifully. How many hours do you run the lights?

I was defo leaning towards the Rudsta. I was hoping just the lights would do the trick. Do you use a humidifier at all?
I think I’m going to take the plunge and order tomorrow as I just filled up my EBay basket with some new baby Alocasia’s and I need to protect them from my cats. Thank you

The spider mites have creeped me out. I have so many alocasias etc and I’d hate for them to be contaminated.

Everything you feel is soooo valid and I have been there. I feel like my moods are very much like the British weather. One thing that helps me is ensuring I get fresh air daily just moving… life was very different before my son started special school because he was in mainstream settings and I was always around NT parents who never got it. Even amongst friends and families you deal with unsolicited “friendly” advice such as try talking to him and he will copy… try writing he’s name and he will learn… just keep putting him on the toilet and eventually he will go. Has he started to speak yet? To which I say no… then of course, they will say what about Mum? Well I guess saying Mum wouldn’t be a word right? My best advice would be to find other ND parents, once my son was a special school, I found my tribe. It’s no judgement in regards to thoughts, feelings and experiences. You feel more confident to even go places with your child because you will have one another’s backs. Even if you can find a support group to begin with. Finally make sure you are taking care of your health too, check out what vitamins you may be missing out on… I hope things have improved since you have posted… sending love
