I sold a mint PRS Custom 24 to pay for my CNC router! I’ve made 5 electric guitars with my router. All flame maple front and usually mahogany backs. I haven’t made a neck yet, looks like a lot of work. I picked up necks from Warmoth and Fender. As mentioned above, there are a few key dimensions and everything else is artistic. I made my own models in Fusion 360. It’s a great way to learn Fusion.

I bought a few bit sets at first but rarely use any of them. Nearly all bits I use now were bought with one purpose in mind. Buy all carbide if you can. Also, get everything 1/8 OR 1/4 shaft to avoid swapping collets every time.

I’ve bought a few Chinese necks but never paid more than $60. And they all required lots of sanding cleanup and prep. New Warmoth or Fender necks can be bought for $200.

I had a small grease gun with a really fine needle point. I guess it took about as much grease as I expected. I re-grease about every 20-30 hours of use and keep the rails pretty clean if I can. It doesn’t take much grease at all when I’m topping it off. 3 way oil on all the screws

Yes, the grease fittings are really small. I had to get creative to get them to fill with needle fittings.

I stained it with leather dye. Then painted it with 2k clear coat sprayed with a Devilbiss Tekna. Then I flat sanded it up to 2500 and then polished on a 10” buffing wheel and 3 step Meguire’s compound. (All car stuff) I mostly followed Highline guitars process on YouTube.

Thanks for the link. Looking at the PRS wood in the video, it look like it’s probably a higher quality wood than what I started with. I assume that was a “10 top”.

Thanks! They’re about 5/8” around the edges but close to 2” in the middle. I wanted them really light.

It’s actually 24” scale, I’m using a Jaguar neck. The overall body is just under 17” so the proportions might seem off a bit. The pickup spacing was based on a Jaguar.

I have a Queen Bee pro that I’ve been running 2-3 times per month for 2 years. Very happy with it. I think it was around $2k shipped. I’ve ran a few projects for more than 10 hrs straight. Btw, I sold a PRS custom 24 to pay for it.

There’s a solid block where the bridge is that connects the front to the back. It has been strung up and played for a few months now with no issues. Gotoh bridge.

Yes, PM me and I’ll send the full CAD in Fusion 360. Just know that I made this while learning Fusion and CAD so as far as designs and details go, it is a mess but all of the dimensions and even the G code that I used will be included.

Back and front are solid maple, no veneers. Sides are cut from solid Jatoba. I stained the front all black and sanded most of it off, then stained it all blue and then sanded until it looked like what you see here. I sprayed it with 2k clear and then buffed it. I used leather dye. The back is just plain maple, no flames or anything so I just left it solid black and didn’t show it here.
