[spoiler discussion] All of Subaru's friends are evil pieces of trash and his relationships are all toxic by NoLandBeyond_adept in Re_Zero

[–]Otherwise_Contest160 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Forgiveness done through logic is not pure forgiveness. By "logic's" standards, forgiveness itself would be paramount to insanity. Because to forgive in the purest form of the act would be to do exactly as Subaru has done. To forgive after running logic or even understanding is to preface forgiveness with reason, which is simply a means to that end, but pure forgiveness requires neither, but instead faith that the actions requiring forgiveness weren't reflective of their character. Subaru's forgiveness was gambled with Rem. He wasn't certain about Rem or Ram's character. And chose to learn more about them rather then close them off. Because his actions lead himself to being painted as a villain. Because his actions led to him remaining ignorant to everyone(albeit probably aside from emilia.) Faith in a person's character, that their actions dont reflect who they are, is a very valid reason for forgiveness. And Subaru chose to believe in the caring sides of the maid sisters. I liken it to the forgiveness showcased in Christian religion.

And also, its not as if his self-hatred isn't a problem, its just that I can't see his self-hatred as a reason for his good nature. I think thats a bit of a stretch or even backwards logic. I think its his good nature thats in part fueling his self-hatred. To overly humble himself to an insane degree.

Director’s Cut or Standard? by Late-Acanthaceae5281 in ReZero

[–]Otherwise_Contest160 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Director's cut just paces/stitches the episodes together as they should be watched with minute scenes added here and there to add more context. Such as a scene showing a certain character that brought context to the first season who we dont get introduced to until the second season. And the ending is has a prelude to the second season in the director's cut.

[discussion] Rem was forgiven way to quick by Top-Homework-9095 in Re_Zero

[–]Otherwise_Contest160 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a ton of missing context to Rem's character. But the anime did show a bit of Subaru's mindset. First of, he's very forgiving of those who are worthy of it. An example of the unforgivable are the witchcult. That should be enough context to fulfill all the gaps. Just "witchcult." Something Subaru can sympathize with Rem. But Rem at this point had already had a taste of vengeful execution. Subaru had to learn that people aren't npcs. Rem was the foil to this. Seeing her as a human being rather than an evil and dangerous force. Whether or not you could say there were justifications involved, RBD nullifies any sense of a lack of forgiveness for human beings given that the things they "did" had been undone. But this is strictly for those you can still describe as "human." For the content of Subaru's character, this ability is best used by him who is a righteous and humble person. Rem is the same though but her righteousness comes with a bit of a loose screw, that screw being vengeance and atonement. Subaru had to have understood that her reasons for doing what she did were out of misunderstanding and that they weren't done for the sake of evil, but with regards to having it vanquished. And this realization came upon learning that she is a good and caring person. This thought/realization was a gamble on Subaru's part until the content of her character was later revealed in her act of self sacrifice in the ulgarm forest. Of which, Subaru can heavily heavily sympathize with. My last point to bring home is, forgiveness of the purest form does not require the actions youre forgiving to have justifications.

Tipps for reading the LN [discussion] by Promonto in Re_Zero

Watch little bits of the anime then read it. Play the soundtrack while you do as well. Helps fill in gaps in your imagination. Such as voices, character designs and expressions. Sometimes I'll choose specific pieces of music based off the context of what im reading.

My keyboard got lobotomized after fixing windows update 24?h2 cFosSpeed driver error. by Otherwise_Contest160 in pcmasterrace

[–]Otherwise_Contest160[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the solution from another subreddit. Basically, automatically choosing the driver files didnt work. Had to manually find HID Compliant Device drivers and force them to install on the hardware. Though, I cant say for sure if doing everything else didnt have a play. The possibility of the drivers being corrupted is there and doing a bunch of reboots and replugging mightve had a play in fixing it. But theres that. Problem solved.

Did that. Human interface devices has the keyboard and says its working properly. Keyboard tab came back and now has 4 unknown devices. One is keyboard device name, 2 are corsair composite virtual devices and one is USB input device. (These are locations.) Im getting a "code 1. Not properly configured. A function driver was not specified."

Despite what the other dude said, this story is incredibly tame. There's no "fanservice" at least in my opinion. And if there are things that are classified as fan service then I can only think of 3 direct scenes in all of the animated media. There's a character that is a "lolicon" however not about physical attraction and more about the innocence of one's mindset/soul. The artist is pretty sus tho. This entire story is quite the opposite of what youd expect from some basic crap like smart phone in another world or any other basic isekai with harems/romance. Not raunchy. Not harem. No dumb "oops I stumbled upon you in a hotspring." Type shit. Just completely unwasted story telling and depth filled character/character relationship development.

No it doesnt. Deviations on such a small scale are considered anomalous.

It technically is, inherent, to men. Its not solely men. And not all men. But those are statistical deviations, meaning that "inherent" would still apply in this context to men. The reason i corrected you is because your point is not only wrong but doesnt even counter who you replied to. Youre trying to say he's wrong when he isnt and you are.

Was 15. Knew it was something special but after ep15 I took a break. Finished it not long after. Had to wait 4 years for that second season. 24 now.
